2. Product Components

The Norpro Honey/Syrup Dispenser consists of the following main parts:

  • Glass Body: The main container for honey or syrup, featuring a decorative beehive pattern.
  • Chrome-Plated Lid and Handle: The top assembly with a trigger mechanism for dispensing.
  • Glass Base: A separate stand designed to hold the dispenser and catch any residual drips, or to be filled with warm water.

3. Setup and Filling

  1. Disassemble: Gently twist the chrome-plated lid and handle assembly counter-clockwise to separate it from the glass body.
  2. Fill: Pour your desired honey or syrup into the glass body. Ensure not to overfill, leaving a small space at the top.
  3. Reassemble: Carefully place the lid and handle assembly back onto the glass body, aligning the threads, and twist clockwise until securely fastened.
  4. Position: Place the assembled dispenser into its glass base.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Dispensing Honey/Syrup

To dispense, simply lift the dispenser from its base and press down on the chrome-plated lever. Honey or syrup will flow from the bottom spout. Release the lever to stop the flow and seal the opening, preventing drips.

4.2 Preventing Crystallization

To help prevent honey from crystallizing around the spout and to keep it flowing smoothly, you can fill the glass base with approximately 1/3 cup (3 oz) of hot water. Place the dispenser into this warm water base. The gentle heat will help maintain the honey's consistency.

5. Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: For best results, hand wash all components of the dispenser. Use warm, soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reassembling or storing.
  • Liquefying Congealed Honey: If honey inside the dispenser congeals, run warm water over the glass body to gently warm and liquefy it.
  • Storage: Store the dispenser in a cool, dry place.

Important Safety Information:

  • Do not use on a stove top.
  • Do not use in a microwave.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Issue: Honey/syrup is not dispensing or flow is very slow.
Solution: Ensure the trigger lever is fully depressed. If the liquid is too thick, try placing the dispenser in its base with warm water to thin the contents.
  • Issue: Dispenser is dripping after use.
Solution: Ensure the trigger lever is fully released after dispensing. The internal stopper mechanism should seal the hole completely. Check for any residue around the spout that might prevent a proper seal.
