Please check the package for the following items:

Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio.
  2. Slide or unclip the cover to open the compartment.
  3. Insert four (4) AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

Note: For optimal performance, use high-quality alkaline batteries. Rechargeable batteries may also be used, but their performance characteristics may differ.

2. Power On/Off

Operating Instructions

1. Basic Communication (Push-to-Talk)

  1. Ensure both radios are powered on and set to the same channel and subcode.
  2. To transmit, press and hold the PUSH-TO-TALK (PTT) button located on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone.
  3. Release the PTT button to listen for a response.

2. Channel Selection

  1. Press the FUNC button once to enter channel selection mode. The channel number on the LCD will flash.
  2. Use the UP or DOWN buttons (often integrated with other controls) to select one of the 14 available FRS channels.
  3. Press the ENTER button to confirm your selection.

3. Subcode Selection (CTCSS/DCS)

  1. After selecting a channel, press the FUNC button again to enter subcode selection mode. The subcode number on the LCD will flash.
  2. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to select one of the 38 available subcodes.
  3. Press the ENTER button to confirm your selection.
  4. Note: Both radios must be set to the same channel and subcode to communicate. Setting the subcode to '00' typically disables the subcode function.
