Setup

1. Connect the Cable: The HD 600 features a detachable, Kevlar reinforced oxygen-free copper cable. Identify the left (L) and right (R) connectors on the cable and align them with the corresponding ports on each earcup. Gently push the connectors into place until they click securely.
2. Choose the Right Adapter: The headphones come with a 1/4" (6.3 mm) adapter. If your audio source has a 3.5 mm jack, attach the adapter to the headphone cable's 3.5 mm plug.
3. Connect to Audio Source: Plug the headphone cable (with or without adapter, as needed) into your audio source (e.g., amplifier, audio interface, hi-fi system).
4. Adjust Fit: Place the headphones on your head, ensuring the earcups fully enclose your ears. Adjust the headband for a comfortable and secure fit. The lightweight design and velour earpads are designed for extended listening comfort.

Operating Instructions

The Sennheiser HD 600 headphones are designed for pure audio enjoyment and professional use. They do not feature active noise control or integrated controls on the cable, ensuring an uncolored audio signal path.

• Listening: Connect the headphones to your preferred audio source. Adjust the volume directly on your audio source. The HD 600's 300 Ohm impedance means they benefit from a dedicated headphone amplifier for optimal performance, especially with lower-power devices.
• Sound Characteristics: Experience natural, spatial imaging with exceptional transient response. The open metal mesh grilles deliver extremely transparent sound, making them ideal for critical listening, mixing, and mastering.

• Storage: Store the headphones in a clean, dry place away from extreme temperatures and humidity. Avoid placing heavy objects on them.
• Cable Care: Handle the detachable cable with care. Avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling. The Kevlar reinforcement provides durability, but proper handling extends its lifespan.

Troubleshooting

• No Sound:
  • Ensure the cable is securely connected to both earcups and the audio source.
  • Check the volume level on your audio source.
  • Verify that the audio source is functioning correctly with other devices.
  • If using an amplifier, ensure it is powered on and configured correctly.
• Distorted Sound:
  • Reduce the volume on your audio source.
  • Ensure the audio file or source material is not corrupted or of low quality.
  • Check for any loose connections in the cable or adapter.
• Discomfort During Extended Use:
  • While designed for comfort, initial clamping force may feel strong. This typically eases over time.
  • Ensure the headband is adjusted correctly and the earcups are positioned properly over your ears.
