- Place the percolator stem into the center well of the percolator body.
- Place the coffee basket onto the percolator stem.
- Place the basket cover on top of the coffee basket.
- Secure the lid onto the percolator body.

Operating Instructions
Brewing Coffee
- Fill with Water: Remove the lid, coffee basket, and percolator stem. Fill the percolator body with cold, fresh water according to the desired number of cups. Do not fill above the maximum fill line.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Place the percolator stem back into the center well. Place the coffee basket onto the stem. Add your desired amount of coarse-ground coffee to the basket. A general guideline is one tablespoon of coffee per cup of water, but adjust to personal preference. Do not use fine-ground coffee, as it may seep through the basket.
- Assemble and Secure: Place the basket cover on top of the coffee grounds in the basket. Secure the lid firmly onto the percolator body.
- Connect Power: Attach the detachable power cord to the percolator's base, then plug the other end into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet. The percolator will begin brewing automatically.
- Percolation Process: Water will heat and be pumped up the stem, showering over the coffee grounds. This process will continue until the coffee reaches its optimal brewing temperature. The brewing time is approximately one minute per cup.
- Keep Warm Function: Once brewing is complete, the percolator automatically switches to a "keep warm" function, maintaining the coffee at a serving temperature without re-percolating.
- Serving: Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. The detachable cord allows for easy serving at the table. Carefully pour coffee using the handle and no-drip spout.
- After Use: Always unplug the percolator from the wall outlet after serving and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

Tips for Best Results
- Use fresh, cold water for each brew.
- Use coarse-ground coffee specifically for percolators. Fine grounds can lead to sediment in your coffee.
- Adjust coffee quantity to your taste preference.
- Do not open the lid during the brewing cycle, as this can affect the brewing process and temperature.
Care and Maintenance
Cleaning
- Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the percolator and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Disassemble: Remove the lid, coffee basket, and percolator stem. Discard used coffee grounds.
- Wash Components: Wash the lid, coffee basket, percolator stem, and basket cover in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are generally dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
- Clean Interior: Wipe the interior of the percolator body with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, a mild abrasive cleaner designed for stainless steel can be used, followed by thorough rinsing.
- Clean Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the percolator body with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the finish.
- Do Not Immerse: Never immerse the percolator body or its detachable power cord in water or any other liquid.
Descaling
Mineral deposits from water can build up over time, affecting performance and taste. Descale your percolator regularly (e.g., monthly, or more often if you have hard water).
- Fill the percolator with a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water.
- Assemble the percolator without coffee grounds.
- Plug in and allow the percolator to complete a full brewing cycle.
- Unplug, discard the vinegar solution, and rinse the percolator thoroughly with fresh water.
- Brew two full pots of plain water to remove any residual vinegar taste.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Percolator does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power outlet not functioning; damaged cord. | Ensure cord is securely plugged into both the percolator and a working outlet. Check circuit breaker. Inspect cord for damage; if damaged, discontinue use and contact customer support. |
| Coffee is too weak. | Insufficient coffee grounds; coffee grounds too coarse; water level too high. | Increase amount of coffee grounds. Use a finer grind (but not too fine). Ensure water level matches desired cups. |
| Coffee is too strong. | Too many coffee grounds; coffee grounds too fine. | Reduce amount of coffee grounds. Use a coarser grind. |
| Sediment in coffee. | Coffee grounds too fine; basket cover not properly seated. | Use coarse-ground coffee. Ensure basket cover is securely placed on the coffee basket. Consider using percolator filters. |
| Percolator leaks. | Overfilled; components not assembled correctly. | Do not fill water above the maximum fill line. Ensure all internal components (stem, basket, lid) are correctly assembled and seated. |
| Coffee does not stay hot. | Percolator unplugged; malfunction of keep warm function. | Ensure the percolator remains plugged in after brewing for the keep warm function to operate. If the issue persists, contact customer support. |
