To begin, complete the ROBITS Starter Chassis by following the assembly guide.

Intake Assembly
- Step 1
Connect a 3/8” Hex Adapter (am-4957-0100) to a high speed programmable servo (am-4955a) and secure it with the included M3 Socket Head Cap Screw. Note that this servo will need to be set for continuous rotation mode.
- Step 2
Attach [1] 2×3 gusset (am-5004_2x3) to the servo assembly using [2] 3/4″ long 10-32 screws (am-1047) and [2] 10-32 nylock nuts (am-1063).
- Step 3
Attach [1] 2×4 plate (am-5006_2x4) to the servo assembly using [2] 3/4″ long 10-32 screws (am-1047) and [2] 10-32 nylock nuts (am-1063).
- Step 4
Attach [1] single end bushing carrier (am-5014) to the plate using [2] 1-1/4″ long 10-32 screws (am-1041), [2] 1/2″ screw spacers (am-1697), and [2] 10-32 nylock nuts (am-1063). Set this assembly aside for now.
- Step 5
Cut an 8 hole by 12 hole (4” by 6”) section of perforated polycarbonate (am-4964) and use [4] cable ties to attach it to [1] 1×16 beam (am-5011_1x16) through the holes indicated.
- Step 6
Connect [2] 1” standoffs (am-1701) to the ends of the beam using [2] 3/4” 10-32 screws (am-1047).
- Step 7
Connect [1] 10” long 1/2″ by 1/2″ tube (am-5001-1000) to the standoffs using [2] 1” long 10-32 screws (am-1056), centered as shown. Set this assembly aside for now.
- Step 8
Attach [1] 2×4 plate (am-5006_2x4) to [1] 6” long 1/2″ by 1/2″ tube (am-5001-0600) using [2] 1” long 10-32 screws (am-1056) and [2] 10-32 nylock nuts (am-1063).
- Step 9
Attach [1] 2” long 1/2″ by 1/2″ tube (am-5001-0200) using [2] 1-1/4″ long 10-32 screws (am-1041) and [2] 10-32 nylock nuts (am-1063).
- Step 10
Attach [1] single end bushing carrier (am-5014) to the tubes using [2] 1” long 10-32 screws (am-1056) and [2] 10-32 nylock nuts (am-1063).
- Step 11
Slide [4] 1” long 10-32 screws (am-1056) through [1] 50 tooth gear (am-5020_50) and secure them with [4] 10-32 nylock nuts (am-1063). Create [2] total of these assemblies.
- Step 12
Attach [1] 30 tooth gear (am-5020_30) to one of the assemblies created in step 11 using [2] 1-1/4″ long 10-32 screws (am-1041) and [2] 10-32 nylock nuts (am-1063) as shown. Note that the gears should be aligned using the alignment notch.
- Step 13
Through the 50 tooth gear, insert [1] 8” hex shaft (am-5003-0800) and slide [11] 1/2″ shaft spacers (am-1699) and [1] 1/4″ shaft spacer (am-1698) overtop.
- Step 14
Slide the second assembly from step 11 onto the hex shaft in the opposite orientation of the first. Note that the gears should be aligned using the alignment notch.
- Step 15
Slide on [1] 1/2″ shaft spacer (am-1699), [2] 14T pulley halves (am-4960_half), and [1] 1/4″ shaft spacer (am-1698).
- Step 16
Slip [1] 45 tooth timing belt (am-5209_45T) over the pulley and connect the assembly that was just constructed to the assembly set aside in Step 10 using [1] 1-1/4″ long 10-32 screw (am-1041). Note that the screw should bottom out in the shaft and the roller should be free to spin when fully tightened.
- Step 17
Slide [1] 10” hex shaft (am-5003-1000) through the bushing carrier and timing belt and secure one end with [1] 1/2″ 10-32 screw (am-1002) and [1] #10 washer (am-1026).
- Step 18
Slide [1] 1/2″ shaft spacer (am-1699), [1] 1/4″ shaft spacer (am-1698), and [2] 14T pulley halves (am-4960_half) overtop. Make sure the pulley is aligned with the timing belt.
- Step 19
Slide [4] 1” long 10-32 screws (am-1056) through [1] 60 tooth gear (am-5020_60) and secure them with [4] 10-32 nylock nuts (am-1063). Create [2] total of these assemblies.
- Step 20
Slide [1] 1/2″ shaft spacer (am-1699) and [1] of the assemblies from Step 19 onto the shaft.
- Step 21
Slide [3] 1/4″ shaft spacers (am-1698) and [10] 3/8” bushings (am-5021) onto the shaft in the order shown.
- Step 22
Slide on [1] assembly from Step 19 on followed by [1] 1/2″ shaft spacer (am-1699) and [1] 1/4″ shaft spacer (am-1698). Note that the gears should be aligned using the alignment notch.
- Step 23
Slide [1] 1/2″ shaft spacer (am-1699) onto the servo shaft from the assembly in Step 4 and then insert that assembly as shown.
- Step 24
Secure the top shaft using [1] 1/4″ shaft spacer (am-1698), [1] 1/2″ long 10-32 screw (am-1002) and [1] #10 washer (am-1026).
- Step 25
Attach the assembly from Step 7 to the robot base using [2] 1-3/4” long 10-32 screws (am-1048) and [2] 10-32 nylock nuts (am-1063).
- Step 26
Attach the assembly from Step 24 to the robot base using [2] 1-1/2” long 10-32 screws (am-1014) and [2] 10-32 nylock nuts (am-1063) on one side and [2] 2-1/4” long 10-32 screws (am-1156), [2] 3/4″ screw spacers (am-4107), and [2] 2” standoffs (am-1702) on the other side.
- Step 27
Wrap rubber bands around the gear assemblies as shown to form the Intake Rollers.

Electronics Assembly
- Step 1
Attach [1] 10” long 1/2″ by 1/2″ tube (am-5001-1000) to the robot chassis using [2] 1-3/4” 10-32 screws (am-1048) and [2] 10-32 nylock nuts (am-1063).
- Step 2
Attach [2] 5×5 corner gussets (am-5005_5x5) to the robot chassis using [2] 1-3/4” 10-32 screws (am-1048), [2] 1/2″ screw spacers (am-1697), and [2] 10-32 nylock nuts (am-1063).
- Step 3
Install [2] 2” 10-32 standoffs (am-1702) using [2] 3/4″ 10-32 screws (am-1047) to complete the battery holder.
- Step 4
The battery can be set inside the holder as shown.
- Step 5
The control hub can be placed in the shown location and secured with cable ties.
