Support for Echo Show 15
Wall Mount Your Echo Show 15
Use the wall mounting hardware included with your Echo Show 15 to mount your device on your wall.
Tools You’ll Need:
- Electric drill with 5/16″ (or 8 mm) drill bit and Phillips #2 driver bit
- Hammer
- Level or level app
- Wall-safe tape
- Included wall mounting template
- Included wall mount and mounting hardware
- Consider the height of everyone using the device. We recommend placing the device at eye level.
- Make sure there’s enough room to mount the device in both orientations.
- Don’t drill holes over studs, electrical wire, or piping.
- Before mounting, unplug the device from electric outlets. Keep your device away from water.
- Use the mounting tips and included mounting template to identify where to mount your device.
- Place the template on the wall in your chosen orientation.
- Use a level or level app to level the template, then tape the template in place.
- Use an electric drill with a 5/16″ or 8 mm drill bit. Drill through the designated holes in the template. Remove the template after you drill the holes.
- Slowly hammer each of the four anchors into the holes until they are flat against the wall.
- Place the wall mount against the wall, then align the four holes with the installed anchors.
- With the Phillips driver bit, drive the screws through the wall mount holes until the screws are flat against the wall mount.
- Plug the supplied power cord into your device.
Note: Once the device is mounted on the wall, you won’t be able to access its power port. Do not plug the device into a wall outlet yet.
- Place your device flat over the top of the wall mount.
- Slide your device down. Make sure that all four hooks in the wall mount are engaged with your device.
- Make sure that your device is placed with the camera at the top.
- Plug your device into a wall outlet.
Getting Started:
Download the Alexa App
Download and install the Alexa app from your mobile device app store. Add the Alexa widget for easy home screen access.
- Open the app store on your mobile device.
- Search for Amazon Alexa app.
- Select Install.
- Select Open and sign in with your Amazon Account.
- Install Alexa widgets (optional).
Set Up Your Echo Show 15
After wall mounting your Echo Show 15 or placing it on a compatible stand (sold separately), plug your device in to begin setup.
- Plug in your device.
- Select your language.
- Connect to your Wi-Fi network.
- Log into your Amazon account.
- Confirm your time zone.
- Confirm your address.
- Confirm the location of your device.
- Choose a name for your device.
- Choose a photo display for your device.
- Add a profile for each family member using your Echo Show 15.
Your device will ask for your name. Enter what you’d like Alexa to call you.
- Add your voice to use voice ID and your face to use visual ID. You can skip this step and enroll at any time.
- Your device will ask if you’d like to turn certain features on or off. You can change your preferences at any time.
- Review your available offers.
Help Loved Ones Set Up Their Echo Show Remotely
If loved ones have difficulty setting up an Echo Show, family members or caregivers can help with the setup remotely.
Before sending the Echo Show to your loved one, you can save their Wi-Fi network to it to help with setup.
- Tap the screen and select a language.
- Select your Wi-Fi network name from the list of available networks.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password, then tap done in the bottom right corner.
- Type in your loved one’s Amazon account email and password and tap Sign in at the bottom.
- Confirm the time zone and tap Continue to complete setup.
After setup is complete, use the following steps to save your loved one’s Wi-Fi network:
- Swipe down from the top of the Echo Show screen and select Settings.
- Select Network.
- Scroll down and select Add a Network under Preferences.
- Type in the name of your loved one’s network.
- Use the drop-down arrow under Security and select WPA/WPA2 PSK.
- Type in the password (case sensitive) under Wi-Fi Password.
- Select Save.
You can now unplug Echo Show, re-package it and send it to your loved one. Echo Show will connect to your loved one’s Wi-Fi network after they receive it and plug it in. They will need to enter their Amazon account password on the screen for security purposes.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth:
Pair Your Phone or Bluetooth Speaker to Your Echo Show
Pair your Bluetooth device using your Echo device’s on-screen settings. These steps also work with Echo Spot.
- Set your Bluetooth device to pairing mode.
- Say, “Go to settings,” or swipe down from the top of your Echo device’s screen and select Settings.
- Select Bluetooth, and then select your Bluetooth device from the list.
Remove Paired Bluetooth Devices from Your Echo Show
Use your Echo Show’s Bluetooth settings to remove previously paired devices. These steps also work for Echo Spot.
- Say, “Go to Settings,” or swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
- Select Bluetooth.
- Select Info
next to the device you want to remove, and then select Forget Device. Repeat this step for all devices you want to remove.
Update the Wi-Fi Settings on Your Echo Show
You can update your Wi-Fi network using your Echo device’s on-screen settings. These steps also work with Echo Spot.
- Say, “Go to settings,” or swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
- Select Network.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and follow the prompts on the screen.
Echo Device Is Having Bluetooth Issues
Your Echo device can’t pair to Bluetooth or your Bluetooth connection drops.
- Make sure your Echo device has the latest software update. Say, “Check for software updates.”
- Make sure that your Bluetooth device uses a supported Bluetooth profile. Alexa supports:
- Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP SNK)
- Audio/Video Remote Control Profile
- Move your Bluetooth and Echo devices away from sources of possible interference (such as microwaves, baby monitors, and other wireless devices).
- Make sure that your Bluetooth device is fully charged and close to your Echo device when pairing.
- If you’ve previously paired your Bluetooth device, remove your paired Bluetooth device from Alexa. Then try pairing it again.
Echo Device Is Having Wi-Fi Issues
Echo device can’t connect to Wi-Fi or has intermittent connectivity issues.
Note: If your device loses its Internet connection and won’t reconnect, first try to Restart Your Alexa Enabled Device. If that doesn’t work, or if your device has intermittent connectivity issues, try the following steps to resolve most Wi-Fi issues:
- Make sure that your Echo device is within 30 feet (or 10 meters) of your wireless router.
- Check that your Echo device is away from any devices that cause interference (such as microwaves, baby monitors, or other electronic devices).
- Check that your router is working. Check the connection with another device to determine if it’s an issue with your Echo device or with your network.
- If other devices can’t connect, restart your Internet router and/or modem. While your network hardware restarts, unplug the power adapter from your Echo device for 3 seconds, then plug it back in. Make sure that you’re using the included power adapter for your Echo device.
- If other devices are able to connect, check that you are using the correct Wi-Fi password. You can also try turning off some of your other devices temporarily to reduce interference and see if that affects your Echo device’s ability to connect.
- If you have several devices connected to your Wi-Fi network, turn some of them off temporarily. That way you can check if multiple connected devices are impacting your Echo device’s ability to connect.
- Check if your router has separate network names (also called SSID) for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. If you have separate network names, try moving your device from one network to the other.
- For example, if your router has both “MyHome-2.4” and “MyHome-5” wireless networks. Disconnect from the network that you’re using (MyHome-2.4) and try to connect to the other one (MyHome-5).
- If your Wi-Fi password recently changed, Update the Wi-Fi Settings for Your Echo Device or Update the Wi-Fi Settings on Your Echo Show.
- If your device is still having intermittent connection issues, Reset Your Echo Device.
Echo Device Can’t Connect to Wi-Fi During Setup
Your device won’t connect to the Internet during setup.
Try the following steps to resolve connection issues during setup:
- Check that you have the latest version of the Alexa app.
- If your Echo device has eero Built-in, follow Connect Your Echo Device to Your eero Network. You must have your eero Network installed first before connecting your Echo device to eero.
- Try the tips listed in Echo Device Is Having Wi-Fi Issues.
- Restart Your Alexa Enabled Device
- If all the previous steps fail, Reset Your Echo Device.
- Try setup again using your phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Widgets:
What Are Alexa Widgets?
Widgets display the latest information from your favorite Alexa content. They give you quick access to the things that matter most to you.
Select from widgets like Sticky Notes, Calendar and Reminders, Shopping List, and more. You can add, remove, and rearrange widgets. Some widgets can be resized. Widgets can be added from the Widget Gallery. You can display up to 10 widgets in your Widget Panel.
On Echo Show 15, the Widget Panel is part of your home screen. Customize your home screen with widgets to create a tailored home screen experience. Not all widgets added to the Widget Panel will show up on the home screen.
On Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 10, you can access widgets from the Widget Panel. Swipe left from the edge of the screen to access the Widget Panel.
Add Widgets to Your Echo Show
Use voice or touch to add widgets to your Echo Show.
Here are some different ways to access the Widget Gallery, where you can browse and add widgets to your Echo Show:
- Ask Alexa, “What widgets can I add?”
- Swipe left from the edge of your screen and select Widget Gallery.
- On Echo Show 15, swipe down from the top edge of the screen.
Here are some different ways to add widgets to your Echo Show:
- If you know the name of the widget you want to add, say, “Add [widget name] widget.” For example, “Add Weather widget.”
- Open the Widget Gallery and select the widget you’d like to add.
- On Echo Show 15, swipe down from the top edge of the screen and select Widget Gallery. Select the widget that you’d like to add.
Note: On Echo Show 15:
- You can only add one Large widget to your Widget Panel.
- The Large widget always fills the first position on the Widget Panel.
- Large widgets are only available on Echo Show 15.
Remove or Resize a Widget on Your Echo Show
Widgets can be removed to customize your Echo Show experience. You can resize certain widgets on your Echo Show 15.
- To resize a widget on Echo Show 15, select Resize Widget.
- To remove a widget, select Remove Widget.
- You can also remove multiple widgets in rearrange mode. Select Rearrange Widgets, then select X on widgets you’d like to remove.
Note: For Echo Show 15:
- Large widgets are only available on Echo Show 15.
- If you resize a widget to Large, it will fill the first position of the Widget Panel.
- You can only add one Large widget to your Widget Panel. The Large widget always fills the first position on the Widget Panel.
Rearrange Widgets on Your Echo Show
Widgets can be rearranged on your Echo Show Widget Panel.
- Long press the widget you want to rearrange.
- Select Rearrange Widgets.
On Echo Show 15:
- In portrait orientation, swipe up and select Rearrange Widgets.
- In landscape orientation, swipe left and select Rearrange Widgets.
On Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 10:
- Swipe left and select Rearrange Widgets.
Fire TV on Echo Show 15:
Set Up Fire TV on Your Echo Show 15
Guided Setup on Echo Show 15 helps build your Fire TV experience.
- Swipe down from the top of the screen and open Settings, or say, “Open Settings.”
- Open Fire TV Settings, then select Guided Setup.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Pair a Fire TV Remote with Your Echo Show 15
You can control the Fire TV experience on Echo Show 15 with an Alexa Voice Remote.
- On your Echo Show 15, swipe down from the top edge of the screen and select Settings, or say “Open Settings.”
- Open Fire TV Settings, then select Fire TV Remotes.
- Select Add a new remote.
- On the Alexa Voice Remote, press and hold the Home button for 10 seconds. The Echo Show tells you when it discovers the remote.
- On the Echo Show screen, select the listed remote to complete pairing.
Watch Fire TV on Your Echo Show 15 with Alexa
Use your voice or touch to use the Fire TV experience.
With your Echo Show 15, you can say:
- “Open Fire TV.”
- “Go to Video Home.”
- “Open Watchlist.”
- “Open Guide.”
- “Open Disney Plus.”
To switch back to Echo Show Home, say, “Go home.”
Alexa functions, such as alarms, notifications, and routines, have priority when you’re using Fire TV. For example, Alexa delivers any reminders or Smart Home alerts while you’re using Fire TV. You can give Alexa directions or questions anytime while using Fire TV.
Watch Fire TV on Your Echo Show 15 with Touch
Use touch on Echo Show 15 to launch and navigate the Fire TV experience.
Open Fire TV by tapping the Fire TV button on the Echo Show 15 home, or the Fire TV widget. You can also use the widget to open Fire TV services you want, such as My Watchlist, Recently Watched, and Recent Apps.
Some video services available with Fire TV have limited touchscreen capabilities. When using such services, Echo Show 15 provides a virtual on-screen remote that works like a physical remote. The virtual remote doesn’t appear when you’re using a physical remote.
Turn On Fire TV Parental Controls on Your Echo Show 15
Use settings to restrict access to content types and purchasing through Fire TV.
- On your Echo Show 15, swipe down from the top edge of the screen and select Settings, or say “Open Settings.”
- Open Fire TV Settings, then select Preferences.
- Turn on the switch for Parental Controls.
- Set a PIN that you’ll use each time that you want to turn parental controls on or off. Enter the PIN that you want and select OK.
- Select the types of controls that you want to turn on or off.
Link Video Streaming Services on Echo Show
To get started, say “Go to video home” and select from the available video providers.
- On your Echo Show 15, swipe down from the top edge of the screen and select Settings, or say “Open Settings.”
- Open Fire TV Settings, then select Content.
- Select whether to find apps on Silk Browser or in the Fire TV Appstore, or to manage apps you already have.
- When you find the apps you want, follow the instructions provided for installing them.
Photos on Echo Show 15:
Use Photo Frame on Echo Show 15
Showcase your favorite photos, including photos from Amazon Photos and Facebook, with Photo Frame.
- Say, “Start Photo Frame.” You can also swipe down from the top edge of the screen and select Photo Frame.
- To return to the home screen say, “Go home.” You can also swipe down and select Home.
Set Up Photo Display on Your Echo Show
To set up your photo display on your Echo Show, use your Echo device’s on-screen settings.
You can use these steps on:
- Echo Show (1st Generation)
- Echo Show (2nd Generation)
- Echo Show 8 (1st Gen)
- Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen)
- Echo Show 10
- Echo Show 15
- Say, “Go to settings,” or swipe down from the top of screen and select Settings.
- Select Clock & Photo Display, and then select a supported photo service.
- Choose the photo or photo album you’d like to set as your display.
View Photos and Slideshows on Echo Show
Use your voice to view your photos and control slideshows on your device. These commands also work with Echo Spot.
Say things like:
- “Show my photos.”
- “Show This Day photos.”
- “Show Family Vault photos.”
- “[Pause / Resume / Repeat] slideshow.”
- “[Previous / Next] photo.”
- “Turn on shuffle.”
- “Zoom [in / out].”

Set Up Daily Memories or This Day
With Daily Memories and This Day, personalize your Echo Show’s home screen automatically with your phone’s photos.
- Open the Alexa app

. - Select Photo Display.
- Select Daily Memories or This Day.
- Select Enable for Auto-Save and allow access to your mobile phone’s camera roll if prompted.
About Daily Memories and This Day
Daily Memories and This Day allow you to personalize your Echo Show’s home screen with auto-curated photos from your phone.
With Daily Memories, you’ll see a curated set of photos on your Echo Show’s home screen refreshed daily.
This Day shows you photos taken on the same day in years past.
Things to know:
- Both Daily Memories and This Day can be enabled in the Alexa app.
- To enable Daily Memories or This Day, you’ll be prompted to allow access to your phone’s camera roll in order to auto-save them.
- Once enabled, Auto-Save stores photos from your camera roll using Amazon Photos. The Amazon Photos app isn’t required.
Note: Auto-Save uploads all photos from your camera roll and continues to upload any new photos.
Smart Home on Echo Show 15:
Use Picture-in-Picture on Your Echo Show
Use picture-in-picture to see your smart home cameras while using your Echo Show for other activities.
Picture-in-picture is available on:
- Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen)
- Echo Show 10
- Echo Show 15
Note: You need to connect a compatible smart home camera to Alexa to use picture-in-picture.
Picture-in-picture lets you see your compatible smart home camera feeds in a small window. Picture-in-picture automatically shows up on your screen when you’re using Alexa for another activity. You can also ask Alexa to show you a picture-in-picture view. Say something like:
- “Show my camera.”
- “Show [camera name] picture-in-picture.”
- “Show [camera name].”
Smart Home Dashboard on Echo Show
Smart Home dashboard displays compatible smart home devices in your home.
Use the Smart Home dashboard to see and control compatible smart home devices in your home from your Echo Show. Your dashboard shows:
- Lights
- Plugs
- Switches
- Cameras
- Thermostats
Your smart home devices must be connected to your Amazon account to display on the Smart Home dashboard.
To add a device, say, “Discover devices.” You can also add devices from the Alexa app.
You can add compatible smart home devices to your Favorites. Use the Alexa app to add favorite devices.
You can also add the Smart Home Favorites widget to your Widget Panel to see and control your favorite compatible smart home devices. To add the Smart Home Favorites widget to your home screen, go to the Widget Gallery. You can also say “Add the Smart Home Favorites widget to Home.”
Set Up Your Echo Show for Home Monitoring
Home monitoring features include remote access to your devices camera feed and more.
- Say, “Go to settings,” or swipe down from the top of screen and select Settings.
- Select Camera.
- Turn on the switch at Home Monitoring.
- Follow the prompts to verify your account and turn on Home Monitoring.
Use Your Echo Show for Home Monitoring
Home monitoring lets you view a live feed from your Echo Show cameras.
You can view and control a live camera feed on your Echo Show or a 360-degree live camera feed from your Echo Show 10 on the following devices:
- Alexa app
- Echo Show
- Fire TV
- Tablet
See a Live View Using Echo Show
Access a live view from your Echo Show camera on another Echo Show device.
To access live view from your dashboard:
- Tap the camera tile in the Smart Home dashboard.
- Select the Echo Show you want to see a live view from.
See a Live View from Your Alexa App
Use your Alexa app to see a home monitoring live view.
To see a live feed from your Alexa app:
- Open Devices.
- Select Cameras.
- Tap the name of your device.
A live view from your device will appear.
Your Personalized Echo Show Experience:
What Is Visual ID on Echo Show?
Visual ID lets Alexa recognize you and display personalized content on compatible Echo Show devices.
Visual ID is available on:
- Echo Show 8 (2nd Generation)
- Echo Show 10 (3rd Generation)
- Echo Show 15
Visual ID uses on-device facial recognition to provide a personalized experience on your Echo Show. When Alexa recognizes you, you’ll see your calendars and reminders, Notes for You, and more.
Additional things to know:
- Visual ID is an opt-in Alexa Profile feature. It isn’t turned on by default.
- Your visual ID and facial images are securely stored on your Echo Show device.
- You can delete your visual ID at any time on your device or in the Alexa app.
- You can turn off visual ID temporarily. Press the mic/camera off button to turn off the camera and microphones or close the camera shutter.
- Your household members can also enroll in visual ID.
Enroll in Visual ID on Your Echo Show
Create a visual ID for a personalized Alexa experience on your compatible Echo Show device.
- Swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
- Select Your Profile & Family.
- Select a profile.
- Select Visual ID.
- Select Add visual ID to this Echo.
- Select Agree & Continue and follow the steps on your device.
Tip: To complete setup, your camera shutter must be open.
Delete Your Visual ID on Echo Show
You can delete visual ID from your Echo Show device or turn it off temporarily.
- Say, “Go to Settings” or swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
- Select Your Profile & Family.
- Select your profile.
- Select Visual ID.
- Select Delete visual ID.
Alexa Doesn’t Recognize You on Your Echo Show
Alexa isn’t recognizing your visual ID or members of your household’s visual ID on Echo Show.
- Make sure that you’re enrolled in visual ID.
- Check your camera shutter. Your camera shutter must be open to use visual ID. If you press the mic/camera off button to turn off the camera and microphones or close the camera shutter, Alexa won’t recognize you.
- Make sure that Do Not Disturb is turned off.
- Make sure that your Echo Show camera can see your face. Sideways angles or obstructed views makes it difficult for Alexa to recognize you.
- If your room is too dark, Alexa won’t recognize you. Make sure that there’s enough lighting.
- If your appearance changes after you create a visual ID, Alexa might not recognize you. Try deleting your visual ID and creating a new visual ID.
If these troubleshooting steps don’t work, delete your visual ID and enroll again.
Notes for You on Echo Show
Leave notes for others in your home from your Echo Show.
Notes for You is available on devices that support visual ID.
Use Notes for You to send notes to anyone in your home. This feature requires both visual ID and voice ID. To send a note say, “Send a note to [name].” You can tell Alexa who you’d like to send a note to and what the note should say. The next time the recipient is recognized on your Echo Show device, they’ll see a home card on their device. Select the home card to open the note.
To leave a note for someone:
- The recipient must have a profile on your Amazon account.
- The recipient must have set up both voice ID and visual ID on at least one device.
You’ll see new notes on your Echo Show home screen after Alexa recognizes your visual ID. Say, “Show my note.” or select the note to view it.

Adjust the Screen Brightness on Your Echo Show
To adjust the screen brightness, swipe down from the top of the screen and use the brightness slider. Or use your Echo device’s on-screen settings. These steps also work with Echo Spot.
- Say, “Go to settings,” or swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
- Select Display.
- Adjust brightness using the slider. You can also toggle Adaptive Brightness on or off.
Link Video Streaming Services on Echo Show
To get started, say “Go to video home” and select from the available video providers.
- On your Echo Show 15, swipe down from the top edge of the screen and select Settings, or say “Open Settings.”
- Open Fire TV Settings, then select Content.

Leave Home Screen Content Feedback
Influence what’s displayed on your Echo Show’s home screen through content feedback.
To leave feedback for specific home screen content, press the three dots in the corner of the panel:
- Select + to show more of that type of content.
- Select X to hide the item.
Note: Selecting X hides the specific story or article, but it doesn’t stop that type of content entirely. For example, hiding a news story does not hide all news.
Troubleshooting:
Music or Media Not Playing with Alexa
Wi-Fi connectivity issues can cause media and music to buffer or not play.
To solve most streaming issues:
- Reduce Wi-Fi congestion by turning off any connected devices that you’re not using.
- Move your device away from walls, metal objects, or sources of interference like microwave ovens and baby monitors.
- Move devices on the floor to a higher location.
- Connect to your router’s 5 GHz channel. Note: Connection to your router’s 5 GHz channel isn’t applicable with Amazon Tap.
- For Amazon Tap, make sure that the batteries are charged.
- Restart your device and network hardware (like a modem and router).
- Verify that your network firewall has the following ports open:
- 123
- 443
- 4070
- 5353
- 33434
- 40317
- 49317
For podcasts:
- Ensure that your podcast service is supported on Alexa.
Echo Show’s Screen Has Lines or Does Not Turn On
To resolve most issues, restart your Echo device. These steps also work with Echo Spot.
Unplug the power adapter from the device or the outlet. Wait 3 minutes and then plug it back in. If the issue persists, verify that you’re using the power adapter that came with your device.
Reset Your Echo Show
If your Echo device is unresponsive, or you want to erase your device settings, factory reset your device. These steps also work with Echo Spot.
Before trying a full device reset, try restarting your device first to resolve most common issues. Just unplug the power adapter from the device or the outlet and then plug it back in. If the restart doesn’t solve your issue, try the following reset procedure.
Factory Reset Your Echo Device with a Screen
- Press and hold the Mute
and Volume Down
buttons until you see the Amazon logo (about 15 seconds). - When prompted, follow the on-screen instructions to set up your device.
To reset your Echo Show (2nd Generation) or Echo Show 10:
On these devices, you can reset the device and clear all your personal information and settings, but keep your smart home device connections.
Reset Your Echo Show (2nd Generation)
- Say, “Go to settings,” or swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
- Select Device Options.
- Select Reset to Factory Defaults.
- Select Reset to Factory Defaults but retain Smart Home Device Connections.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your device.
Deregister Your Device
If you no longer wish to use your device, you can deregister it from your Amazon account.
If you would like to give your device as a gift or wish to register the device under a different account, you will need to deregister the device from your account.
To deregister your device:
- Go to Manage Your Content and Devices and log in to your account.
- Click Devices.
- Select your device and click Deregister.
