    Question

How do I delete pictures from my Amazon Echo Dot (3rd Generation)?

    Answer

The Amazon Echo Dot (3rd Generation) does not have a screen to display or store photos directly. If you are referring to photos used for Alexa features (such as those displayed on other Echo Show devices or managed via the Alexa app), you must manage them through Amazon Photos.

    To delete photos:

    • Open the Amazon Photos app on your mobile device or go to the Amazon Photos website.
    • Select the photos you wish to remove.
    • Move them to the Trash and then empty the trash to delete them permanently.

If you meant deleting voice recordings (which is mentioned in the manual's privacy section), you can do this in the Alexa app by going to Settings > Alexa Privacy > Review Voice History.

    Question

My Echo Dot (3rd Gen) light ring stays blue and I want to set up my device. How do I proceed?

    Answer

When you first plug in your Amazon Echo Dot (3rd Generation), a blue light ring will spin for about a minute. If the light remains blue and does not turn orange, the device is not yet in Setup Mode.

To configure your device, follow these steps:

    • Wait for the Orange Light: Alexa should eventually greet you and the light ring should turn orange. This indicates the device is ready to connect to the Alexa app.
    • Force Setup Mode: If the light stays blue or doesn't turn orange, press and hold the Action button (the button with the dot symbol) for about 25 seconds until the light ring turns orange.
    • Use the Alexa App: Once the light is orange, open the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone, go to "Devices," select the "+" icon, and choose "Add Device" to follow the on-screen instructions.

If you continue to have trouble, ensure you are using the included power adapter and that your smartphone's Bluetooth is enabled during the process.
