Before First Use
» Unpack your ceiling fan and remove any packing material. » Make sure all parts are present. Compare the parts with the “Hardware” and “Package Contents”
sections to make sure everything is included. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble, install, or operate your ceiling fan.
Determining Mounting Location
WARNING To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, mount to the outlet box marked acceptable for fan support of 15.9 kg (35 lbs.) or less, and only use the mounting screws provided with the outlet box.
» To reduce the risk of injury, install your ceiling fan so the blades are least 2.3 m (7.5 ft.) above the ground.
» Most outlet boxes commonly used for the support of lighting fixtures are not acceptable for fan support and may need to be replaced. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt. The fixing means for attachment to the ceiling, such as hooks or other devices, should be fixed with a sufficient strength to withstand four times the weight of the ceiling fan.
» Install your ceiling fan on a sloped ceiling under 15 degrees.
Installing the Mounting Bracket
WARNING Turn the power off at the circuit breaker or fuse. Place tape over the circuit breaker switch and verify power is off at the light fixture.
1. Unscrew and carefully remove the existing light or fan.
2. Check the outlet box and make sure it can support the fan’s weight. WARNING Most outlet boxes commonly used for the support of lighting fixtures are not
acceptable for fan support and may need to be replaced. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt. The fixing means for attachment to the ceiling, such as hooks or other devices, should be fixed with a sufficient strength to withstand four times the weight of the ceiling fan.
NOTICE: All set screws must be checked and retightened where necessary before installation.
