Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance may void the user's authority granted by the local government radio management departments to operate this radio and should not be made. To comply with the corresponding requirements, transmitter adjustments should be made only by or under the supervision of a person certified as technically qualified to perform transmitter maintenance and repairs in the private land mobile and fixed services as certified by an organization representative of the user of those services. Replacement of any transmitter component (crystal, semiconductor, etc.) not authorized by the local government radio management departments equipment authorization for this radio could violate the rules.

Avoid Burns

Batteries (If appropriate)

When the conductive material such as jewelry, keys or chains touch exposed terminals of the batteries, may complete an electrical circuit (short circuit the battery) and become hot to cause bodily injury such as burns. Exercise care in handling any battery, particularly when placing it inside a pocket, purse or other container with metal objects.
Long Transmission
When the transceiver is used for long transmissions, the radiator and chassis will become hot.

Protect Your Hearing

- Use the lowest volume necessary to do your job.
- Turn up the volume only if you are in noisy surroundings.
- Turn down the volume before adding headset or earpiece.
- Limit the amount of time you use headsets or earpieces at high volume.
Note: Exposure to loud noises from any source for extended periods of time may temporarily or permanently affect your hearing. The louder the radio's volume, the less time is less time is from loud noise is sometime sundetectable at first and can have a cumulative effect.

Setup
Battery Installation
The TR106 radio operates on 2 x AAA batteries (not included).
- Open the battery compartment cover (13) on the back of the radio.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as marked inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Caution:
- Don't mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.
- In order to prevent the risk of electrolyte leakage or burst, do not attempt to recharge, heat or decompose the batteries.
- If not using the radio for a long time, please remove the batteries to avoid leakage and corrosion.
- If electrolyte leakage occurs, wipe it dry with a soft cloth and replace with new batteries.
Antenna Operation
- For AM radio: The radio uses an internal magnetic antenna. For best reception, rotate the machine to find the optimal direction.
- For FM radio: Extend the rod antenna (9) fully. Adjust its length and direction to achieve the best reception.
Operating Instructions
Basic Operation
- Power ON/OFF: Long press the Power ON/OFF button (3) for about 2 seconds. The screen will show "ON" and the last tuned frequency.
- Volume Adjustment: When the radio is on, press the Volume "+" button (7) or Volume "-" button (8) to adjust the sound level.
- Band Selection (FM/AM): When the radio is on, press the Band switch button (4) to switch between FM and AM bands.
- AM Band Step Conversion (9KHz/10KHz): In the shutdown state, long press the Volume "+" button (7) to convert the AM band step between 9KHz and 10KHz.
Tuning
- Automatic Search: When the radio is on, long press the Upward tuning button (5) or Downward tuning button (6) to automatically search for channels towards higher or lower frequencies.
- Manual Search: Short press the Upward tuning button (5) or Downward tuning button (6) to manually change the frequency. Each press changes the frequency once until a channel is found.
Station Storage
To store a found channel:
- After finding a channel (either automatically or manually), press the Channel storage button (10). The stored channel number will flash on the display.
- Press the Stored channel "+" (12) or Stored channel "-" (11) to select the desired storage address.
- Press the Channel storage button (10) again to confirm the storage. The radio frequency will be saved to the selected address.
To recall a stored channel:
When the radio is on, press the Band switch button (4) to select the desired band. Then, press the Stored channel "+" (12) or Stored channel "-" (11) to select the stored channels. The radio will then tune to that channel.
Headphone Use
To listen privately without disturbing others, insert headphones into the earphone jack (2). The internal speaker will automatically be disconnected.
Sleep Shutdown
This machine is equipped with an automatic sleep shutdown function to save power.
- When the radio is off, press the Sleep shutdown button (3) without releasing it. The radio will turn on, and after 3 seconds, the screen will show the sleep timing indication and "90" (meaning 90 minutes). The radio will automatically power off after 90 minutes.
- In the sleep shutdown state, pressing the Sleep shutdown button (3) again allows you to adjust the shutdown time (e.g., 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 minutes, or off).
- To turn off the radio before the set sleep time, press the Sleep shutdown button (3) again.
Clock Time Setting
The radio uses a 24-hour time format. After installing batteries, the clock will start from 12:00 PM.
- In shutdown state, if the timing boot indication is shown, press the Time set button (10) to cancel it.
- Long press the Time mode button (10) once. The hour number will flash. Use the Time adjustment "+" (7) or "-" (8) buttons to set the hour.
- Press the Time mode button (10) twice. The minute number will flash. Use the Time adjustment "+" (7) or "-" (8) buttons to set the minute.
- If you need to revise the time, you must reset it from the beginning.
Caution:
- When setting the hour, ensure the hour number is flashing.
- When setting the minute, ensure the minute number is flashing.
Timing Boot Time Settings
This function allows the radio to turn on automatically at a set time.
- In shutdown state, short press the Time set button (10). The screen will show the timing boot indication and timing boot time.
- Long press the Time mode button (10) once. The timing boot indication and hour number will flash. Use the Time adjustment "+" (7) or "-" (8) buttons to set the hour for timing boot.
- Long press the Time mode button (10) twice. The timing boot indication and minute number will flash. Use the Time adjustment "+" (7) or "-" (8) buttons to set the minute for timing boot.
- At the set timing boot time, the radio will automatically turn on and receive the last tuned frequency.
- To turn off the radio in advance, press the power key.
- To cancel the timing boot function, in shutdown state, press the Time set button (10) to remove the timing boot indication from the screen.
Lock Settings
To prevent accidental operations, the radio has a button lock function.
- Long press the Power ON/OFF lock button (4) for 2 seconds. The screen will show the lock symbol "On", indicating the radio is locked and other buttons will be inactive.
- To unlock, long press the Power ON/OFF lock button (4) again until the lock symbol disappears from the screen. The functions of other buttons will be restored.
Maintenance
- Clean the radio with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Keep the radio away from water and excessive moisture.
- If the radio will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
Troubleshooting
- No power: Check if batteries are installed correctly and are not depleted.
- Poor reception: Extend the antenna fully for FM. For AM, rotate the radio to find the best signal. Try moving to a different location.
- AM frequency step is incorrect (e.g., 10KHz instead of 9KHz): In the shutdown state, long press the Volume "+" button (7) to toggle between 9KHz and 10KHz steps.
User Tips
- For optimal performance and to avoid frequent battery changes, consider using high-quality alkaline or rechargeable AAA batteries. Note that the radio does not have a built-in charging port.
- If you enjoy listening to the radio in bed, utilize the sleep shutdown timer to conserve battery life.
- The radio is very portable, making it convenient for outdoor activities like hiking or for use during commutes.
