2. Product Overview
The EARU DZ30-32 DPN Mini Circuit Breaker (MCB) is a protective electrical device designed for low-voltage power distribution systems. Its primary function is to provide reliable protection against overload and short-circuit conditions, ensuring the safety of household electrical circuits. This device also facilitates circuit breaking operations.
Available current ratings include 6A, 10A, 16A, 20A, 25A, and 32A, catering to various electrical load requirements. The DPN (Double Pole Neutral) configuration means it protects both the live (phase) and neutral lines.

4. Installation
The DZ30-32 DPN Mini Circuit Breaker is designed for mounting on a 35mm DIN rail. Ensure all power is disconnected before attempting installation.
- Mounting: Securely clip the circuit breaker onto a standard 35mm DIN rail. The device features a clip mechanism on the back for easy installation and removal.
- Wiring: Connect the incoming live (L) and neutral (N) wires to the top terminals marked 'IN'. Connect the outgoing live (L) and neutral (N) wires to the bottom terminals marked 'OUT'. Ensure proper polarity.
- Terminal Connections: Use appropriate wire sizes for the rated current. The terminals accept cables up to 16 mm² and busbars up to 10 mm². Tighten terminal screws to a torque of 2.5 N·m to ensure secure connections and prevent overheating.
- Verification: After wiring, double-check all connections for tightness and correct polarity before restoring power.

5. Operation
The circuit breaker features a red operating handle for manual control and status indication.
- Turning ON: Push the operating handle upwards to the 'ON' position. This closes the circuit, allowing current to flow.
- Turning OFF: Push the operating handle downwards to the 'OFF' position. This opens the circuit, interrupting current flow.
- Automatic Tripping: In the event of an overload or short circuit, the breaker will automatically trip, moving the handle to an intermediate or 'OFF' position to protect the circuit.
- Resetting After a Trip: Before resetting, identify and rectify the cause of the trip (e.g., remove overloaded appliances, fix short circuits). Once the fault is cleared, push the handle fully down to the 'OFF' position, then push it upwards to the 'ON' position to restore power.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable operation of your circuit breaker.
- Periodic Inspection: Visually inspect the circuit breaker periodically for any signs of physical damage, discoloration, or loose connections.
- Cleaning: Keep the device clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquids or abrasive cleaners.
- Connection Check: Ensure all wire connections remain tight. Loose connections can lead to overheating and potential hazards.
- No User-Serviceable Parts: As per safety instructions, do not attempt to disassemble or repair the circuit breaker yourself. If the device is faulty, it must be replaced by a qualified electrician.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Circuit breaker trips frequently | Overload on the circuit (too many appliances), short circuit, or faulty appliance. | Reduce the load on the circuit. Unplug some appliances. Check for short circuits in wiring or appliances. If the problem persists, consult a qualified electrician. |
| Circuit breaker does not reset | Persistent fault (overload/short circuit still present), or internal damage to the breaker. | Ensure the fault has been cleared. If the breaker still won't reset, it may be damaged and needs replacement by a qualified electrician. |
| No power to circuit, but breaker is ON | Loose wiring connection, fault elsewhere in the electrical system, or faulty breaker. | Check all wiring connections for tightness. Inspect other components in the circuit. If necessary, have a qualified electrician diagnose and repair the issue. |
8. User Tips
- Wiring Direction: The circuit breaker is designed for convenient connection with two-pole busbars, with the input terminals located at the top.
- Dual Pole Protection: This DPN breaker effectively disconnects both the live (L) and neutral (N) lines simultaneously during a trip or manual shutdown, providing comprehensive circuit isolation.
- Voltage Compatibility: This device is rated for 230V~ AC. Ensure your electrical system's voltage matches this specification.
- Not for Surge Protection: This MCB is designed for overcurrent and short-circuit protection, not for surge protection. For surge protection, a dedicated Surge Protective Device (SPD) is required.
