6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and accurate performance of your ATORCH DL24/P electronic load tester, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid using liquids or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Handling: Handle the device with care to prevent physical damage. Avoid dropping or subjecting it to strong impacts.
- Ventilation: Ensure the cooling fan is not obstructed during operation to prevent overheating. The fan starts at 55°C and turns off at 45°C, or when power is >10W.
- Power Supply: Always use a stable DC12V 1A power supply. Incorrect voltage or current can damage the device.
7. Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions:
- APP crashes on phone/PC:
For PC software, ensure you are using Windows 7 or 10 (or above). Download and test the software before purchasing. If the software is incompatible, consider using a different computer. For mobile apps, ensure your Android version is 5.0 or above. Some phones (e.g., Samsung) might have compatibility issues; try another phone for pairing and online connection. - Bluetooth connection issues / Blank APP screen:
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. For Android, turn on GPS positioning permission. In your phone settings, find the E-test APP and grant location and storage permissions. Reconnect after adjusting permissions. - Incorrect readings/Calibration:
If the voltage or current readings are inaccurate, the device may need calibration. Connect a known accurate voltage source (e.g., 30V) and navigate to the calibration menu (usually item 4 for voltage, item 5 for current at 3A) to confirm the calibration. - Device not discharging at set amperage:
Ensure the power supply for the electronic load is sufficient (DC12V 1A). Check the wiring connections for any loose contacts. Verify that the device under test is properly connected and has sufficient charge. - Device beeps and stops working:
This could indicate a protection trigger (overload, overcurrent, or high temperature). Check the load power, current, and device temperature. Reduce the load or allow the device to cool down. - Cannot test AC load:
This device is designed for DC loads only. It cannot test AC power sources or transformers directly. - Testing batteries with high capacity (e.g., 200Ah):
While the screen digits may show up to 99999mAh (99.999Ah), the device can still test higher capacity batteries. The cumulative capacity will be displayed, and you can perform multiple discharge cycles if needed.
8. User Tips
- Power Supply Compatibility: The provided power supply is typically a DC12V US standard. If your country uses a different standard, you may need to source a local DC12V 1A power supply or use the included US to EU adapter if applicable.
- Software for Testing: While the mobile app is convenient for monitoring, for critical testing and data export, the PC software is generally more robust and recommended.
- Battery Testing: The device is effective for testing various battery types, including 18650, 46950, and other lithium batteries. For high current discharge tests (e.g., 10A or more), ensure proper 4-wire wiring and suitable fixtures to avoid wire voltage drop affecting accuracy.
- Charger Testing: This electronic load can effectively test chargers and power adapters, allowing you to observe their performance under maximum load.
- Low Voltage Cut-off: The device has a minimum voltage cut-off (default 2V) to protect batteries from over-discharge.
- Firmware Updates: Regularly check the official website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
