3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Ensure the multimeter is turned off.
  2. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  3. Unscrew the battery cover.
  4. Insert one 9V (6F22) zinc-carbon battery, observing correct polarity.
  5. Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screw.

Note: Batteries are not included in the standard package due to international shipping regulations. Please purchase them from your local store.

3.2 Connecting Test Leads

  1. Insert the black test lead into the 'COM/LC+' input jack.
  2. Insert the red test lead into the appropriate input jack for your measurement:
    • For Resistance (Ω) measurements, use the 'Ω' input jack.
    • For Capacitance (C) and Inductance (L) measurements, use the 'LC-' input jack.

4.2 Selecting Measurement Functions

Use the central rotary switch to select the desired measurement function and range:

  • Resistance (Ω): Select the appropriate Ω range (e.g., 20Ω, 200Ω, 2kΩ, etc.).
  • Capacitance (C): Select the appropriate C range (e.g., 2000pF, 20nF, 200nF, etc.).
  • Inductance (L): Select the appropriate L range (e.g., 20mH, 200mH, 2H, 20H).
  • Transistor hFE: Use the dedicated hFE test input jack.

4.3 Performing Measurements

  1. Connect the test leads to the appropriate input jacks as described in Section 3.2.
  2. Turn the rotary switch to the desired measurement function and range.
  3. Touch the test probes to the component you wish to measure.
  4. Read the value displayed on the LCD screen.
  5. For Transistor hFE tests, insert the transistor leads into the corresponding slots in the hFE test input jack.

4.4 Data Hold Function

Press the blue HOLD button to freeze the current reading on the display. Press it again to release the hold function and resume live measurements.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Wipe the multimeter with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

5.2 Battery Replacement

When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the 9V battery as described in Section 3.1. Always use a fresh zinc-carbon battery.

5.3 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, remove the battery to prevent leakage. Store the multimeter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No display or dim display: Check battery level and replace if necessary. Ensure the power button is pressed.
  • Incorrect readings: Verify that the test leads are correctly connected and that the rotary switch is set to the appropriate function and range. Ensure the component is properly connected to the probes.
  • 'OL' or '1' displayed: This indicates an over-range condition. Select a higher range on the rotary switch or check for an open circuit.
  • No continuity beep: Ensure the continuity function is selected and that the resistance is below 50Ω.
