Maintenance

Battery Replacement:

When the battery voltage drops below 4.8V, the lock will issue an automatic alarm each time it is opened. After the alarm, the lock can still be opened approximately 200 times. Replace all four AAA batteries promptly when this occurs.

Cleaning:

Wipe the lock's surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.

Resetting the Lock:

To reset the lock to factory settings, open the battery cover and locate the "SET" (Reset) button. Long press this button. When you hear the voice prompt "Successful", the reset is complete.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions:

  • Fingerprint scanner not working: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Re-register your fingerprint if the issue persists. If the lock is installed on an exterior door and exposed to harsh weather, the scanner may be affected.
  • Batteries draining quickly: Battery life can vary. Some users report several months of use, while others experience faster drainage. Ensure you are using good quality alkaline batteries. If WiFi is constantly active, it may consume more power.
  • Cannot connect to WiFi: The lock connects to 2.4 GHz WiFi networks only, not 5 GHz. Ensure your router is configured correctly and the lock is within range.
  • Remote unlock via APP not working: Verify the lock is properly connected to WiFi and the Tuya Smart APP. Some users have reported issues with remote commands, ensure the app and lock firmware are up to date.
  • Lock not responding: Check battery levels. If batteries are dead, use the mechanical key or an external power supply via the Micro-USB port.
  • Voice assistant too loud/unwanted: The voice prompt can be disabled or adjusted in the lock settings via the keypad or Tuya APP.

User Tips

  • Battery Life: Battery duration can vary significantly based on usage frequency and WiFi activity. Some users report several months of use, while others experience faster drainage. Using high-quality alkaline batteries is recommended.
  • WiFi Connection: The lock is designed to connect to 2.4 GHz WiFi networks. It is not compatible with 5 GHz networks. Ensure your home network is configured accordingly.
  • Water Resistance: This product is NOT waterproof. Avoid installing it in locations directly exposed to rain, snow, or other harsh weather conditions, especially for exterior doors, as this can affect functionality like the fingerprint scanner.

  • Voice Prompts: The lock features voice prompts for operations. These can typically be muted or adjusted through the lock's settings menu or the Tuya Smart app.
  • Remote Access: While the Tuya APP supports remote unlock, ensure a stable 2.4 GHz WiFi connection for reliable operation. Some users have noted occasional inconsistencies with remote commands.
