4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Transmitter Operation

1. Power ON/OFF: Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds to power on the transmitter. The LED power indicator will light up blue, and the signal level will display on the screen. To power off, press and hold the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds again.
2. Set Remote Control Range: The range is the straight distance between the transmitter and receiver collar, determined by the transmitted signal intensity. Higher signal values result in a farther range. For the KD-661C, the maximum range is up to 500 meters in an open area. Use the "+" or "-" buttons on the transmitter to adjust the signal level from 0 to 100. The set value will be displayed on the screen.

   Note: The remote control distance is measured in an open area. It may be affected by electromagnetic waves or obstacles, slightly reducing the range.

3. Switch to Pairing Status: With the transmitter powered on, short press the ON/OFF button. The screen will display "1dP" and flash, indicating it's in pairing status. Complete pairing within 10 seconds, or it will revert to working status.
4. Charge Transmitter: The transmitter is rechargeable. When the LED power indicator flashes red, it indicates a low battery. Connect the charger. Once fully charged, the LED will turn blue.

   Note: Charge for at least 4 hours before first use.

4.2 Receiver Collar Operation

1. Assemble Parts: Attach the two contact probes to the receiver's screws. Use short probes for small dogs and long probes for medium to large dogs. Thread the TPU strap through the receiver's back and both holes.
2. Power ON/OFF: Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds to turn on the receiver collar. A short "Bi" sound will be heard, and the red LED will light up. If the transmitter is off or out of range, the "Bi" sound will repeat every second until the receiver is turned off or the transmitter is back on and within range.
3. Make Pairing with Transmitter: Ensure the transmitter is in pairing status (displaying "1dP" flashing) and the receiver is on. Short press the ON/OFF button on the receiver. If successful, the receiver's power LED will turn blue with a short "Bi" sound.
4. Charge Receiver Collar: The receiver collar is rechargeable. When the LED power indicator flashes red, it indicates a low battery. Connect the charger (same as for the transmitter). Once fully charged, the LED will turn blue.

   Note: Charge for at least 4 hours before first use.

4.3 Connecting a Receiver to Transmitter (Pairing)

To connect any KD-661C receiver with a KD-661C transmitter and set up the fence system, they must be paired. Follow these steps:

1. Step 1: Switch Transmitter to Pairing Status: Ensure the transmitter is on. Short press the ON/OFF button. The screen will display "1dP" with flashing, indicating pairing status.
2. Step 2: Pair Receiver with Transmitter: Bring the receiver close to the transmitter. Short press the ON/OFF button of the receiver. If pairing is successful, the receiver's power LED will turn blue, and a short "Bi" sound will be issued.

   Note: You must complete the pairing within 10 seconds. Otherwise, the transmitter's display will revert to showing the signal value.

3. Step 3: Verify the Wireless Fence System:
   • Set a proper signal level on the transmitter panel to achieve your desired remote control range (refer to section 4.1, step 2).
   • Move the receiver away from the transmitter until a "Bi-Bi" sound is heard from the receiver.
   • Attach the LED test light to the contact probes of the receiver. The LED should light up. This confirms that the receiver is beyond the set boundary and all functions are working correctly.
   • If the receiver does not connect, repeat the pairing steps.

   Note: All receivers are typically pre-paired and verified before packaging.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Starting Dog Training

1. Place the receiver collar on your dog's neck, ensuring it is snug but comfortable.
2. Check or set the transmitting signal level using the "+/-" buttons on the transmitter. The chosen value will be displayed.
3. Position the transmitter at least 1.5 meters (approximately 5 feet) above the ground, and ensure there are no metal walls or large metallic objects nearby. This helps achieve the best remote control range.

5.2 Working Principle of the Fence System

The system activates automatically if your dog moves beyond the set control range. The receiver will initiate a sequence of warnings and corrections until your dog returns to the "safe area":

1. The receiver will emit "Bi-Bi" warning sounds, and the red LED will flash every 2 seconds.
2. After the third warning sound, a low-level static shock will begin. The intensity of the static shock will progressively increase from level 1 to level 4 every second.
3. The system will stop working for 30 seconds after a correction sequence, then start another sequence if the dog remains outside the boundary.

Important: If your dog consistently remains outside the safe area, the receiver will cease operation after the third cycle to prevent excessive punishment. Ensure the transmitter has sufficient battery capacity while the system is active. If the transmitter powers off, the receiver will continue with warning sounds and static shock for 3 cycles, similar to the dog moving beyond the boundary.

6. Maintenance

• Battery Care: A low battery can cause intermittent operation. Do not use the system if you suspect a low battery; charge it immediately.
• Collar Wear: Do NOT leave the receiver collar on your dog for more than 10 hours per day to prevent skin irritation.
• Cleaning: Regularly inspect and clean the contact probes and the collar strap to ensure proper function and hygiene.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Reset Operation

• Reset Transmitter: If the transmitter has a full battery but cannot power on, press the RESET button to restart it.
• Reset Receiver: If the receiver collar has a full battery but cannot power on, connect it to the charger for one or two seconds to initiate a reset.

7.2 General Issues

• No Signal/Intermittent Operation: Check transmitter battery level and ensure it's powered on. Verify the transmitter is placed at least 1.5 meters from the ground and away from metal obstructions. Adjust signal intensity if necessary.
• Receiver Not Responding: Ensure the receiver collar is powered on and properly paired with the transmitter. Check receiver battery level.
• Collar Irritation: Do not leave the collar on for extended periods (over 10 hours). Ensure proper fit and clean the contact points regularly.
