4.1. Helmet Installation

The WAYXIN R5 is designed for easy installation on various helmet types. Follow these steps:

1. Attach the speakers and microphone to the helmet interior using the provided adhesive pads or clips.
2. Position the main unit's mounting bracket slightly fixed on the side of the helmet.
3. Secure the mounting bracket on the edge of the helmet.
4. Tighten the mounting screws to firmly secure the bracket.
5. Ensure the unit is mounted downwards for optimal positioning.
6. Verify all components are securely in place before use.

4.2. Microphone Selection

The WAYXIN R5 comes with two types of microphones to suit different helmet designs:

• Hardcore Microphone: Ideal for open-face or modular helmets where the microphone can be positioned closer to the mouth.
• Button Microphone: Suitable for full-face helmets, designed to be discreetly placed inside the helmet.

Choose the microphone that best fits your helmet type for optimal audio clarity.

5. Operation

5.1. Button Functions Overview

• Power Button: Turns the device on/off.
• Intercom Button: Initiates or ends intercom communication.
• Volume + / - Buttons: Adjusts the volume.
• Phone Button: Manages phone calls and voice assistant.
• FM Button: Activates or deactivates FM radio.

5.2. Power On/Off

To power on the device, simultaneously press and hold the Power Button and the Volume + Button for 2 seconds until the indicator lights illuminate.

To power off, simultaneously press and hold the Power Button and the Volume - Button until the indicator lights turn off.

5.3. Phone Connection (Bluetooth Pairing)

To connect your WAYXIN R5 to your mobile phone via Bluetooth:

1. Ensure the R5 unit is powered on.
2. Long press the Phone Button on the R5 unit until the indicator lights flash red and blue alternately, indicating pairing mode.
3. On your mobile phone, open the Bluetooth settings.
4. Search for available devices and select "WAYXIN R5 PLUS".
5. Confirm the connection and authorize any Bluetooth operation requests on your phone.

5.4. Intercom Pairing (2 Riders)

To establish intercom communication between two R5 units:

1. Ensure both R5 units are powered on.
2. On both units, long press the Intercom Button until the red and blue lights flash simultaneously, indicating pairing mode.
3. On one of the units, click the Intercom Button to initiate the search for the other unit.
4. Once successfully paired, both units will show a simultaneous flashing blue LED.
5. Click the Intercom Button on either unit to enter intercom mode.
6. To exit intercom mode, click the Intercom Button again.

Note: If the products have been previously connected, you only need to press the intercom button on one unit to enter intercom mode without repeating the full pairing process.

5.5. Voice Assistant

When connected to your phone, double-click the Phone Button to activate your phone's voice assistant (e.g., Siri, Google Assistant). This allows for hands-free control of your phone's functions.

5.6. FM Radio

Press the FM Button to turn on the built-in FM radio. The R5 supports a frequency range of 76MHz-108MHz. Use the Volume +/- buttons to change stations or adjust volume.

5.7. Call Answering

To enable or disable automatic answering of incoming calls, long press the Phone Button for 3 seconds.

5.8. Battery Power Notification

To check the current battery level, long press the Volume + Button for 3 seconds.

5.9. Restore Pairing Record

To clear all previous pairing records and restore factory settings, long press the Volume - Button for 3 seconds.

6. Maintenance

• Water Resistance: The WAYXIN R5 is IPX6 waterproof, meaning it is protected against high-pressure water jets from any direction. It can withstand rain, but avoid submerging the device in water. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed when not charging to maintain water resistance.
• Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the unit. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Charging: Charge the device using the provided charging cable. Do not use damaged cables or chargers.
• Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

• Intercom Not Connecting:
  • Ensure both units are powered on and fully charged.
  • Verify both units are in intercom pairing mode (red and blue lights flashing simultaneously).
  • Initiate the search from one unit by clicking the intercom button.
  • If issues persist, try restoring pairing records on both units (long press Volume - for 3 seconds) and re-pairing.
• Poor Audio Quality / Noise:
  • Check microphone placement. Ensure it's close to your mouth and not obstructed.
  • Confirm the correct microphone type is used for your helmet (hardcore for open-face, button for full-face).
  • The device features CVC and DSP noise reduction, but extreme wind or background noise can still affect clarity, especially at high speeds.
• Bluetooth Phone Connection Issues:
  • Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is enabled and visible.
  • Forget "WAYXIN R5 PLUS" from your phone's Bluetooth settings and re-pair.
  • Make sure the R5 unit is in phone pairing mode (red and blue lights flashing alternately).
• Limited Intercom Range:
  • The maximum intercom distance is 1200m in open areas. Obstacles like buildings, dense trees, or terrain can significantly reduce this range.
  • Maintain a clear line of sight between units for best performance.
• Battery Draining Quickly:
  • Ensure the unit is fully charged (approx. 3 hours).
  • High volume levels or continuous intercom use will consume battery faster.
  • Check for any background processes or constant searching if not actively connected.

8. User Tips

• The WAYXIN R5 offers excellent voice and music quality, along with good battery life for its price point.
• For intercom communication with a passenger, the connection is generally stable. However, at very high speeds (e.g., above 50 km/h), communication clarity might decrease.
• The mounting bracket with screws provides a secure fit. For added stability, some users reinforce it with adhesive tape.
• While the device is IPX6 waterproof, always ensure the charging port cover is tightly closed to prevent water ingress, especially during rain.
• The intercom function works independently of your phone. You can communicate with another R5 unit without needing a mobile phone connection or signal.
• When connecting multiple units (e.g., three or more), simultaneous group talk is not supported. You will need to switch channels to speak with different individuals.
• The R5 is compatible with most Bluetooth-enabled phones (Android and iOS) and can stream music from apps like Spotify. It can also connect to GPS devices.

9. Warranty and Support

The WAYXIN R5 comes with a comprehensive warranty:

• Main Unit: One (1) Year Product Warranty Service from the date of receipt.
• Headset Part (Speakers & Microphones): Six (6) Months Warranty from the date of receipt.

The warranty does NOT cover the following situations:

• The product is damaged due to dismantling by a third-party organization or individual.
• The product is damaged due to human reasons (e.g., misuse, accidental damage).
• The product is damaged due to Force Majeure factors (e.g., natural disasters).
