Terminal Connections:

  • COUNT (+/-): Connect the two wires from the proximity switch sensor here.
  • RESET (optional): Connect an external momentary switch here for remote reset functionality.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Power On/Off

The counter powers on automatically when the battery is installed. There is no dedicated power button. The LCD display will show the current count.

5.2. Counting

The counter increments by one each time the proximity sensor detects the magnet. Ensure the magnet passes within the 3-10mm detection range of the sensor.

5.3. Pause Function

  • To pause counting, press the PAUSE button on the front panel. The display will hold its current value.
  • To resume counting, press the PAUSE button again.

5.4. Reset Function

The counter can be reset to zero using two methods:

  • Panel Reset: Press the RESET button on the front panel.
  • External Reset: If an external reset switch is connected (as per Section 4.4), activate that switch.

Note: The minimum pulse width for a reset signal is 0.1 seconds.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Battery Replacement

When the display becomes dim or the counter stops responding, it's time to replace the AA 1.5V battery. Follow the steps in Section 4.1 for battery installation.

6.2. Cleaning

Wipe the counter and sensor with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the device.

6.3. Storage

If storing the counter for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent leakage and potential damage to the device.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Counter not displaying or dim displayLow or dead batteryReplace the AA 1.5V battery (see Section 6.1).
Counter not incrementing
  • Proximity sensor not detecting magnet.
  • Sensor or magnet improperly positioned.
  • Sensor wires loose or incorrectly connected.
  • Magnet too far from the sensor.
  • Ensure the magnet passes within 3-10mm of the sensor.
  • Check sensor and magnet alignment.
  • Verify wiring connections to the "COUNT" terminals (see Section 4.4).
Reset function not working
  • RESET button malfunction.
  • External reset switch wires loose or incorrectly connected.
  • External reset switch faulty.
  • Try using the other reset method (panel or external).
  • Check wiring for the external reset switch (see Section 4.4).
  • Test the external reset switch for functionality.

8. User Tips

  • For optimal performance, ensure the proximity sensor and magnet are securely mounted and aligned.
  • Regularly check the battery level, especially in critical applications, to avoid unexpected power loss.
  • When using the external reset function, ensure the switch provides a clean pulse of at least 0.1 seconds.
  • The counter's seismic design helps protect data, but avoid excessive vibrations or impacts to prolong its lifespan.
