Setup Guide
- Install Batteries: Open the battery compartments on both the remote transmitter and the receiver unit. Insert 2 AAA batteries into each unit, ensuring correct polarity.
- Connect Probes: Plug the stainless steel temperature probes into the corresponding jacks on the remote transmitter. Probe 1 is typically for food temperature, and Probe 2 can be used for either food or ambient (BBQ/oven) temperature.
- Power On: Turn on both the transmitter and receiver units. They should automatically synchronize. If not, press and hold the 'SYNC' button on both units until they connect.
- Place Probes:
- For food temperature, insert the probe tip into the thickest part of the meat, avoiding bone or gristle.
- For ambient (BBQ/oven) temperature, attach the second probe to the grill grate using the provided grill clip. Ensure the probe tip is not touching the grate or food for an accurate ambient reading.
- Position Units: Place the remote transmitter near your grill or oven. The receiver unit can be carried with you up to 150 meters (500 feet) away. The receiver unit features a tabletop stand and a wall mount for convenient placement.

Operating Instructions
Cooking Mode
The TP-08C allows you to monitor two temperatures simultaneously: one for your food (Probe 1) and one for your oven/grill (Probe 2). You can set desired target temperatures for both probes.
- Select Probe: Use the buttons on the receiver to select which probe's settings you wish to adjust.
- Set Target Temperature: Use the 'UP' and 'DOWN' arrow buttons to set your desired food temperature for Probe 1. For Probe 2, you can set a high and low temperature range for your BBQ or oven.
- Temperature Display: The receiver will display the current temperature readings from both probes. You can switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C) using the dedicated button.

Timer Mode
The TP-08C includes a versatile timer function that can operate as both a countdown and count-up timer.
- Access Timer: Press the 'TIMER' button to switch to timer mode.
- Set Countdown: Use the 'HR' and 'MIN' buttons to set your desired countdown time, up to 24 hours. Press 'START/STOP' to begin.
- Count-Up: To use as a count-up timer, simply press 'START/STOP' without setting a countdown time. The timer will start from 00:00.
- Timer Alarm: When the countdown reaches zero or the count-up timer is stopped, the receiver will alarm by beeping three times per second. The corresponding arrow (upward for count-up, downward for countdown) will blink.

Temperature Alarm
The TP-08C receiver will alert you with an audible alarm when the monitored temperature (either food or ambient) goes outside your set range or reaches your target temperature.

Maintenance
- Cleaning Probes: Always clean the stainless steel probes thoroughly after each use with hot soapy water. Do not immerse the probe wires or connectors in water. Only the metal probe tip is designed to be submerged.
- Unit Cleaning: Wipe the transmitter and receiver units with a damp cloth. Do not immerse them in water or expose them to excessive moisture.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the display becomes dim or the units fail to power on. Ensure correct polarity when inserting new batteries.
- Storage: Store the thermometer in a dry place at room temperature when not in use.
Troubleshooting
- No Signal/Lost Connection: If the receiver loses connection with the transmitter, ensure both units are within the 150-meter (500-foot) range and there are no major obstructions. Try re-synchronizing the units by pressing the 'SYNC' button on both. The receiver will emit a signal if connection is lost.
- Inaccurate Temperature Readings: Ensure probes are clean and correctly inserted. If a probe consistently provides incorrect readings, it may need replacement.
- Display Issues: If the display is dim, replace the batteries. Note that the unit does not display tenths of a degree, only whole numbers.
- Backlight: The backlight feature cannot be disabled.
