Compatibility

- Wheel Size: The kit is available for 26 inch, 27.5 inch, and 28"/29"/700C wheel sizes. Choose the correct size for your bicycle.
- Rear Dropout: Your bicycle's rear dropout size must be between 132-138mm. The motor's OLD is 135mm ± 1.
- Brake Type: The kit is compatible with mechanical disc brakes. It is NOT compatible with Rim V brakes.
- Gear Shift: The kit uses a cassette type gear shift. It is suitable for bicycles equipped with a cassette below 11 speeds. Note that the cassette is not included.


Setup and Installation
Follow these general steps to install your Varstrom E-Bike Conversion Kit. Refer to the wiring diagram for electrical connections.
- Prepare Your Bicycle: Remove the existing rear wheel from your bicycle.
- Install Hub Motor Wheel: Install the new hub motor wheel into the rear dropout of your bicycle. Ensure it fits securely within the 132-138mm dropout space.
- Mount Controller Box: Secure the controller box to your bicycle frame in a suitable location, typically near the seat post or on the down tube.
- Install PAS Sensor: Attach the Left PAS Sensor to the pedal crank arm. Ensure it is correctly aligned to detect pedal rotation.
- Install Throttle: Mount the Thumb Throttle on your handlebar in a comfortable position.
- Install Brake Components: Install the optional Brake Lever or Brake Sensor on your handlebars. If using brake sensors, attach them to your existing brake levers.
- Install Display: Mount the Optional Display (e.g., DZ40 Mini, SW2-M58, EKD01 Bluetooth, DPC18) on your handlebar.
- Connect Wiring: Use the provided 1T4 cable and other wires to connect the hub motor, controller, PAS sensor, throttle, brake components, display, and headlight. Refer to the wiring diagram carefully.
- Secure Cables: Use plastic straps to neatly secure all cables along the bicycle frame, preventing them from interfering with moving parts or getting damaged.

Operation
Once the kit is installed and a compatible 48V battery is connected, you can begin operating your e-bike:
