Maintenance

  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check the Wavlink official website for the latest firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Cleaning: Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Ensure ventilation holes are not obstructed.
  • Placement: For best performance, place the device in an open area, away from obstructions, large metal objects, and other electronic devices that may cause interference.
  • Restart: If you experience network issues, try restarting the device by unplugging it from the power outlet for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.

Troubleshooting

  • No Wi-Fi Signal: Ensure the device is powered on and the Wi-Fi LED is illuminated. Check the connection to your main router. If in Repeater mode, ensure it's within range of the main router.
  • Slow Speed: Try repositioning the extender closer to your main router or closer to your devices. Ensure there are no physical obstructions. Check for firmware updates.
  • Connection Drops: This could be due to interference. Try changing the Wi-Fi channel on your main router or the extender. Ensure the device is not overheating.
  • Cannot Access Web Interface: Ensure your device is connected to the extender's Wi-Fi network. Verify the IP address or login URL is entered correctly. Try clearing your browser's cache or using a different browser.
  • Forgot Password/Configuration Issues: Use the Reset button to restore the device to factory default settings. This will erase all custom configurations. To reset, press and hold the Reset button for approximately 5-10 seconds until the LEDs flash.

User Tips

  • For optimal performance, place the extender roughly halfway between your router and the area where you need improved Wi-Fi coverage.
  • If using Mesh mode, ensure all Wavlink mesh devices are compatible and from the same brand for seamless integration.
  • Utilize the Gigabit Ethernet port for devices like gaming consoles or desktop PCs to get the most stable and fastest wired connection.
  • Take advantage of the WPS button for quick setup, but for more control over network settings, use the web interface.
