5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your computer case and its components.

5.1 Cleaning

  • Exterior: Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces, including the tempered glass panels. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Dust Filters: Periodically remove and clean any dust filters (e.g., on the top, bottom, or side panels) to maintain optimal airflow.
  • Interior: Use compressed air to remove dust from internal components and fan blades. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning the interior.

5.2 Airflow Optimization

The right side panel features a perforated design for enhanced cooling. Ensure this area is not obstructed to maintain proper airflow.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter during or after building your PC in the S900 Sandstorm case.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
System does not power on.Loose power connections, faulty PSU, incorrect front panel wiring.
  • Check all power cables (24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU, GPU PCIe) are securely connected.
  • Verify the PSU is switched on.
  • Ensure front panel power switch cables are correctly connected to the motherboard.
Fans are not spinning or RGB is not working.Incorrect fan/RGB connections, faulty fans.
  • Check fan power cables are connected to appropriate headers on the motherboard or fan controller.
  • Verify RGB cables are connected to compatible RGB headers (if applicable).
USB ports on front panel are not working.Incorrect USB header connection to motherboard.
  • Ensure the USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 headers from the case are correctly plugged into the corresponding headers on your motherboard.
Poor cooling performance.Obstructed airflow, dust buildup, insufficient fans.
  • Clean dust filters and internal components.
  • Ensure no cables or components are blocking airflow paths.
  • Consider adding more fans or upgrading to a more powerful cooling solution if temperatures remain high.

7. User Tips

  • Plan Your Build: Due to the compact nature of MATX cases, plan your component layout carefully, especially for larger GPUs and CPU coolers, to ensure compatibility and optimal airflow.
  • Cable Management is Key: Utilize the 90mm cable space behind the motherboard tray to keep cables tidy. This not only improves aesthetics but also enhances airflow.
  • Tempered Glass Care: Handle the tempered glass panels with care during assembly and cleaning to prevent scratches or damage.
  • Cooling Configuration: Experiment with different fan configurations (intake/exhaust) to find the best balance for your specific components and environment. The case supports a total of 7 x 120mm fans for excellent airflow.
  • Aesthetic Customization: The panoramic design is perfect for showcasing RGB components. Consider RGB fans and other illuminated hardware to personalize your build.
