Setup and Initial Charging
Initial Charge
Before first use, fully charge the jump starter. It is recommended to fully charge the unit after each use and every 3-6 months when not in use to maintain battery health.
- Using 12V DC Car Charger: Connect the 12V DC car charger to the jump starter and then to your vehicle's 12V accessory outlet. Charging time is approximately 4 hours.
- Using USB-C Charging Cable: Connect the USB-C cable to the jump starter and a compatible USB power adapter (not included). Charging time is approximately 7-8 hours.
The battery indicator lights on the device will show the charging progress and current battery level.
Operating Instructions
Jump Starting a Vehicle
The CMXCESM262 is designed to jump start vehicles with up to 10.0L gas engines and 8.0L diesel engines. It is compatible with standard, AGM, gel, and deep-cycle batteries.
- Connect: Ensure the jump starter is sufficiently charged. Connect the red clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle's battery and the black clamp to a metal part of the vehicle's chassis (away from the battery and fuel lines) or the negative (-) terminal if safe to do so.
- Start: Turn on the jump starter. Attempt to start the vehicle. If the vehicle does not start immediately, wait a few minutes and try again. The device features Schumacher’s Pre-Heating Technology for reliable starts in freezing temperatures and Pre-Boost for deeply discharged batteries.
- Remove: Once the vehicle starts, immediately disconnect the black clamp, then the red clamp, from the vehicle.

Using as a Portable Power Pack (USB Charger)
The device includes a 2.4A USB port for charging smartphones and other USB-powered devices. This port delivers ultra-fast charging, up to 2x faster than standard USB ports.
- Connect your device's USB charging cable to the jump starter's USB port.
- The jump starter can provide power for up to 50 jump starts on a single charge, or extended use as a power bank.
Using the LED Light
The built-in LED light offers three modes for various situations:
- Steady: For general illumination.
- Flashing (SOS): For emergency signaling.
- Strobe: For attracting attention.
To cycle through the modes, press the light button repeatedly.

Maintenance
- Recharging: Always recharge the unit after each use. For optimal battery life, recharge every 3-6 months even when not in use.
- Cleaning: Keep the unit clean and free from dirt, dust, and moisture. Use a dry cloth to wipe the exterior.
- Storage: Store the jump starter in its carrying case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The device is designed to work in extreme temperatures from -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to 60°C), but storage in moderate conditions is recommended for longevity.
