1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe operation, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Z1 Electric Scooter. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the scooter to ensure proper function and to prevent injury.

2. Safety Information

WARNING: Riding an electric scooter can be dangerous. Always wear a helmet and appropriate safety gear. Follow all local laws and regulations.

  • Always wear a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads.
  • Do not ride in heavy traffic or on slippery surfaces.
  • Avoid riding in the rain or through puddles.
  • Ensure all bolts and quick releases are securely fastened before each ride.
  • Do not allow children under 16 to ride the scooter.
  • Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 330 lbs (150 kg).
  • Be aware of your surroundings and pedestrians.
  • Always use the lighting system when riding in low-light conditions.

4. Setup and Assembly

The Z1 Electric Scooter is designed for easy assembly. Follow these steps to get your scooter ready for its first ride.

  1. Unfold the Scooter: Carefully remove the scooter from its packaging. Locate the folding mechanism and release it to raise the handlebar stem into the upright position. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
  2. Attach Handlebars (if separate): If the handlebars are separate, align them with the stem and secure them using the provided screws and tools. Ensure they are tight and do not wobble.
  3. Check Tire Pressure: Ensure the 10-inch off-road tires are adequately inflated. Refer to the tire sidewall for recommended pressure.
  4. Initial Charge: Before the first use, fully charge the scooter's battery. Connect the charger to the scooter's charging port and then to a power outlet. The indicator light on the charger will typically change from red to green when fully charged. This may take up to 7 hours.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the power button on the display panel until the screen illuminates.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the power button until the display turns off.

5.2 Riding the Scooter

  1. Place one foot firmly on the footboard.
  2. Push off with your other foot to gain initial momentum.
  3. Gently press the throttle lever to engage the motor.
  4. Maintain balance and steer by leaning and turning the handlebars.
  5. To slow down or stop, gently apply the brake levers. The E-ABS cut-off technology will disengage the motor during braking.

5.3 Speed Modes

The Z1 Electric Scooter offers four speed modes, selectable via a button on the display panel:

  • Eco Mode (9 MPH): For maximum battery efficiency and relaxed cruising.
  • Comfort Mode (15 MPH): Ideal for city riding and balanced performance.
  • Sport Mode (21 MPH): For faster commutes and increased acceleration.
  • Turbo Mode (28 MPH): For maximum speed and an exhilarating ride.

5.4 Lighting System

The scooter is equipped with a comprehensive 360° lighting system for enhanced safety, especially during night rides.

  • Headlight: A powerful LED headlight illuminates up to 15 meters ahead. Activate it using the dedicated light button.
  • Taillight: The brake-activated taillight flashes automatically when braking to alert others.
  • Turn Signals: Use the turn signal switch on the handlebars to indicate turns. They will auto-blink.
  • Ambient Lights: Footboard ambient lights provide additional visibility and style.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Z1 Electric Scooter.

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the scooter with a damp cloth. Do not use high-pressure water or immerse the scooter in water.
  • Tires: Regularly check tire pressure and inspect for wear or damage. Replace worn tires promptly.
  • Brakes: Periodically check brake pads and discs for wear. Adjust or replace as needed to maintain optimal braking performance.
  • Battery Care:
    • Charge the battery fully after each use.
    • Avoid completely draining the battery.
    • If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50-70% and store in a cool, dry place. Recharge every 1-2 months.
    • The smart BMS helps prevent overcharging/over-discharging.
  • Fasteners: Periodically check all screws and bolts for tightness. Tighten any loose fasteners.
  • Suspension: Inspect the hydraulic and spring suspension components for any signs of damage or leaks.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Pre-Ride Check: Always perform a quick check of brakes, tires, and fasteners before each ride.
  • Battery Optimization: For best battery life, avoid frequent full discharges and try to keep the charge level between 20% and 80% during regular use.
  • Smooth Acceleration: Gradual acceleration and braking can extend battery range and component lifespan.
  • Terrain Awareness: While equipped with off-road tires and suspension, be mindful of extremely rough terrain to prevent damage.
  • Visibility: Even with the built-in lighting, consider wearing reflective clothing, especially when riding at night.
