5. Setup Instructions

5.1 SIM Card Installation

The BQ-300 requires a SIM card for network connectivity. A mini SIM card is typically provided for free for one year with the purchase. After the first year, you will need to pay fees as requested by your local network operator.

  1. Locate the SIM card slot on the side of the device.
  2. Carefully open the SIM card slot cover.
  3. Insert the mini SIM card into the slot with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner aligned correctly.
  4. Close the SIM card slot cover securely to ensure water and dust resistance.

5.2 Charging the Battery

Before initial use, fully charge the device's 5000mAh battery.

  1. Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the Type-C port on the device.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to the charger, a car charger, power bank, or a PC.
  3. The indicator light will show charging status. Once fully charged, the indicator light may change color or turn off.

5.3 Initial Power On

  1. Press and hold the Power Switch until the device powers on and the display screen illuminates.
  2. The device will attempt to connect to the network. Ensure your SIM card is active and has a data plan.
  3. Follow any on-screen prompts for initial setup or network configuration.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Communication (PTT)

  1. Ensure the device is powered on and connected to the network (4G/3G/2G icon visible on screen).
  2. Select the desired group or individual contact from the menu.
  3. To transmit, press and hold the PTT button on the side of the device. Speak clearly into the microphone.
  4. Release the PTT button to listen for a response.

6.2 Menu Navigation

Use the Menu, Select, and Return keys to navigate the device's interface:

  • Menu Button: Press to enter the main menu.
  • Side Keys (1 & 2): Use these to scroll through menu options.
  • Select Key: Press to confirm a selected option or enter a sub-menu.
  • Return Key: Press to go back to the previous screen or exit a menu.

6.3 Grouping Functionality

The BQ-300 supports free grouping, allowing users to create and manage communication groups for efficient team coordination.

  1. Access the 'Group' or 'Member' option from the main menu.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to create new groups, join existing ones, or manage group members.
  3. Once in a group, all transmissions will be heard by members of that specific group.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents.
  • Ensure the Type-C port and SIM card slot are free from dust and debris.

  • No Network Connection: Check if the SIM card is correctly inserted and active. Verify that you are in an area with 4G/3G/2G network coverage. Restart the device.
  • Cannot Transmit/Receive: Ensure the PTT button is pressed correctly during transmission. Check if you are in the correct group or channel. Verify network connectivity.
  • Battery Not Charging: Ensure the Type-C cable and charger are properly connected and functional. Try a different charging source (e.g., another USB port or charger).
  • Device Freezes/Unresponsive: Press and hold the Power Switch for an extended period (e.g., 10-15 seconds) to force a restart.
