4. Device Overview
Familiarize yourself with the various parts and controls of your IP-Q1 radio:

Controls and Ports:
- Built-in Antenna: For signal transmission and reception.
- Indicator Light: Provides status indications (e.g., charging, signal).

5. Initial Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Ensure the radio is powered off.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio.
- Open the cover and insert the 2500mAh detachable battery, ensuring the contacts align correctly.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
5.2 Charging the Radio
Before first use, fully charge the radio's battery.
- Connect the Type-C charging cable to the TYPE-C Charging/Data Port on the side of the radio.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the provided power adapter, and then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
- The indicator light will show charging status. Once fully charged, the indicator light will change (refer to device display for exact status).
- Alternatively, if you have an optional base charger, place the radio in the charging cradle.

5.3 SIM Card Installation (If applicable)
The IP-Q1 supports 4G PoC communication, which typically requires a SIM card for network connectivity. Refer to your service provider's instructions for SIM card activation and installation into the dual card slot.
6. Basic Operation
6.1 Power On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the Power button (usually integrated with a function key or a dedicated button) until the display lights up.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button until the device prompts you to power off, then confirm.
6.2 Push-to-Talk (PTT)
To transmit your voice, press and hold the PTT key located on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT key to listen.
6.3 Group Selection and Volume Adjustment
The Endless Knob at the top of the radio allows for quick adjustments:
- Group Switching: Rotate the Endless Knob to cycle through available communication groups.
- Volume Adjustment: In standby mode or during a call, rotate the Endless Knob to increase or decrease the speaker volume.
6.4 Menu Navigation
Use the Function Key, Up/Down Keys, and Back Key to navigate the 1.77-inch color display's large icon menu. Select icons to access features like Group List, Member List, Settings, and more.
6.5 Lock Screen Function
Activate the lock screen function from the menu to prevent unintended key presses and settings changes.
6.6 Custom Shortcut Keys
The Side Key 1 and Side Key 2 can be programmed via the radio's settings menu to quickly access frequently used functions.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the radio's exterior. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Battery Care: Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Store the radio and battery in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
- Environmental Conditions: While the radio has an IPX5 water resistance level, avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, dust, and moisture.
- Antenna: Do not attempt to remove or modify the built-in antenna.
8. Troubleshooting
