4.1. Dimensions

Refer to Figure 4.1 for detailed dimensions of the device, including mounting points and overall size. All measurements are in millimeters (MM).
5. Setup
5.1. Mounting
- Ensure the power supply to the installation area is completely turned off.
- Locate a standard 35mm DIN rail within your electrical enclosure.
- Align the timer switch's mounting clip with the DIN rail.
- Press the timer switch firmly onto the DIN rail until it clicks securely into place.
5.2. Wiring
IMPORTANT: All wiring must be done with the power OFF. Incorrect wiring can cause damage to the device, electrical shock, or fire.

- Identify the "电源 SOURCE" (Power Source) terminals and "负载 LOAD" (Load) terminals at the bottom of the device.
- Connect the incoming Live (L) wire from your AC 220V/240V power supply to the "L" terminal under "电源 SOURCE".
- Connect the incoming Neutral (N) wire from your AC 220V/240V power supply to the "N" terminal under "电源 SOURCE".
- Connect the Live (L) wire of your electrical load (e.g., street lamp, advertising light) to the "L" terminal under "负载 LOAD".
- Connect the Neutral (N) wire of your electrical load to the "N" terminal under "负载 LOAD".
- Ensure all screw terminals are tightened securely to prevent loose connections.
- After wiring, double-check all connections for correctness before restoring power.
6. Operating Instructions
Once the device is powered on, the display will illuminate. If the display is dim or blank, refer to the Troubleshooting section regarding the internal battery.
6.1. Setting Current Time and Day
- Press the "时钟" (Clock) button to ensure you are in the main time display mode.
- Press and hold the "时钟" (Clock) button, then simultaneously press "校时" (Calibrate Hour) to set the hour.
- While still holding "时钟" (Clock), press "校分" (Calibrate Minute) to set the minute.
- While still holding "时钟" (Clock), press "校星期" (Calibrate Weekday) to set the current day of the week (e.g., Mo for Monday, Tu for Tuesday, etc.).
- Release the "时钟" (Clock) button. The current time and day are now set.
6.2. Programming ON/OFF Cycles
The KG316T/KG316T-D allows you to set multiple ON/OFF programs. Each program consists of an ON time and an OFF time, and can be configured for specific days of the week.
- Press the "定时" (Timing) button. The display will show "1 ON" (or similar, indicating the first ON program).
- Use "校时" (Calibrate Hour), "校分" (Calibrate Minute), and "校星期" (Calibrate Weekday) to set the desired ON time and days for the first program. You can select individual days, weekdays, weekends, or all days.
- Press "定时" (Timing) again. The display will show "1 OFF" (indicating the first OFF program).
- Use "校时" (Calibrate Hour), "校分" (Calibrate Minute), and "校星期" (Calibrate Weekday) to set the desired OFF time and days for the first program.
- Repeat steps 1-4 for additional ON/OFF programs (e.g., "2 ON", "2 OFF", etc.) as needed. The device typically supports a certain number of programs (e.g., 8, 16, or 20).
- After setting all desired programs, press the "时钟" (Clock) button to exit programming mode and return to the current time display.
6.3. Auto/Manual Mode
The "自动手动" (Auto/Manual) button allows you to override programmed settings temporarily or permanently.

- Manual OFF (手动 OFF): The load is continuously OFF, overriding any programmed ON times.
Press the "自动手动" button repeatedly to cycle through these modes until the desired operating state is displayed.
6.4. Resetting the Device
To clear all programmed settings and reset the device to factory defaults, locate the small reset button (often recessed) and press it using a non-metallic pointed object (e.g., a toothpick). This will typically clear all programs and reset the clock to 00:00.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Internal Battery: The device contains an internal backup battery to maintain time and program settings during power outages. If the display becomes dim, unclear, or loses time/settings frequently, the internal battery may need replacement. Refer to the Troubleshooting section for more details.
- Connection Check: Annually, or as needed, inspect wiring connections to ensure they remain tight and free from corrosion.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Display is unclear or no display. | Internal backup battery is low or depleted. | Replace the internal battery. This typically involves opening the front panel (often a small cover at the top) and replacing a button cell battery (e.g., CR2032). Ensure power is disconnected before attempting. |
| Device does not power on. | No power supply; incorrect wiring; faulty unit. | Check power source. Verify wiring connections (L and N for SOURCE). If power is present and wiring is correct, the unit may be faulty. |
| Load does not turn ON/OFF as programmed. | Incorrect programming; device in Manual mode; faulty load connection. | Ensure the device is in "Auto" mode. Recheck your programmed ON/OFF times and days. Verify the load is correctly wired to the "LOAD" terminals and is functional. |
| Time or settings are lost after power outage. | Internal backup battery is low or depleted. | Replace the internal battery. |
9. User Tips
- Initial Charge: When first installing or after a long period of no power, allow the device to be powered for a few hours to charge the internal backup battery.
- Test Programs: After programming, it's advisable to manually advance the time or wait for the programmed times to verify that the ON/OFF cycles function as intended before relying on the automation.
- Labeling: For complex setups, consider labeling the timer switch and its associated load for easy identification.
