This manual provides detailed instructions for installation, operation, and maintenance of your TRV602 thermostat.

4. Product Overview

4.1 Interface and Buttons

The TRV602 thermostat features an intuitive interface with a knob for temperature adjustment and a set button for various functions. The OLED display provides clear information.

  • Time Display: Shows current time.
  • Wake up, Leave(am), Return(pm), Sleep: Indicators for programmed modes.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Remove the battery compartment cover.
  2. Insert three 1.5V AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover and secure it with the lock.

5.2 Physical Installation (Adapters)

The TRV602 comes with 6 different adapter accessories to ensure compatibility with various radiator valves. Follow the instructions below to install the thermostat onto your radiator valve.

Identify your radiator valve type and select the appropriate adapter. Securely attach the adapter to the valve, then mount the TRV602 thermostat onto the adapter using the union nut.

5.3 App Connection (Tuya Smart / Smart Life)

To enable smart control features, connect your TRV602 to the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.

  1. Download the 'Tuya Smart' or 'Smart Life' app from your smartphone's app store.
  2. Register or log in to your account.
  3. Add a new device:
    • For WiFi version: Follow the in-app instructions to connect the thermostat to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
    • For Zigbee version: Ensure you have a Tuya Zigbee gateway (hub) already set up. Follow the in-app instructions to add the thermostat to your Zigbee network via the gateway.
  4. Once connected, you can rename the device and assign it to a room.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Operation

  • Temperature Adjustment: Rotate the knob button to increase or decrease the target temperature. The new setting will be displayed on the OLED screen.
  • Mode Switching: Press the middle button to cycle through different operating modes (e.g., Auto, Manual).

6.2 App Remote Control

Control your radiator thermostat from anywhere using the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.

  • View current room temperature and set temperature.

6.3 Voice Control

6.4 Programmable Function

Set custom heating schedules for each day of the week to save energy and ensure comfort. The app allows you to define up to 4 time periods per day.

  • Open the Tuya Smart / Smart Life app.
  • Select your TRV602 thermostat.
  • Navigate to the 'Schedule' or 'Program' settings.

6.5 Child Lock Function

Activate the child lock to prevent unauthorized changes to the thermostat settings, ensuring consistent heating and safety.

6.6 Screen Rotation

  • Long press the Set Button for 3 seconds to switch the screen display direction. Four directions are available.

6.7 Loss of Temperature Detection (Open Window Function)

The thermostat can detect sudden drops in temperature, indicating an open window or door. It will temporarily pause heating to save energy.

  • This feature is usually enabled by default or can be configured in the app settings.

6.8 Timing Start (Anti-calcification Function)

This function periodically opens and closes the valve to prevent mineral buildup and clogging, ensuring the longevity and efficiency of your radiator system.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Ensure to use fresh 1.5V AA alkaline batteries.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Tuya Smart / Smart Life app for available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device not turning on: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are fresh.
  • Cannot connect to app:
    • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz (for WiFi version).
    • Verify your Zigbee gateway is powered on and connected (for Zigbee version).
    • Restart the thermostat and try the pairing process again.
    • Check if your phone is connected to the same network during setup.
  • Inaccurate temperature readings: Ensure the thermostat is not obstructed or exposed to direct heat sources.
  • No heating: Check if the valve is properly installed and not stuck. Verify the set temperature is higher than the ambient temperature.
  • Voice control not working: Ensure the thermostat is correctly linked to Alexa or Google Assistant in the Tuya Smart / Smart Life app and that your voice assistant device is online.
