Installation Guide
Follow these steps carefully to install your Smart Door Knob-D2. A visual guide is also available in the video below.
Pre-installation Notes:
- Door Thickness: Suitable for doors with a thickness of 30mm-50mm.
- Mortise Compatibility: Designed for 6068 mortise.
- Door Type: Compatible with Steel Door, Wooden Door, Brass Door, Stainless Steel Door, and Other door types.
- Power: Requires four #7 (AAA) dry batteries (not included).
- Water Resistance: This product is not waterproof. Avoid exposure to moisture.

- Step 1: Install the Lock Body (Latch Bolt)
Install the latch bolt on the door first. Secure it with screws.
Installation of the latch bolt into the door frame. - Step 2: Install Copper Columns on the Front Panel
Install the two screw bolts on the front cover. Insert the hollow square bar into the bottom of the front handle and let the data line stick out. Ensure the square bar is fully inserted to avoid affecting normal product use. - Step 3: Remove Battery Baffle Plate and Install Screws
Remove the battery baffle plate from the interior assembly. Install the screws into the interior assembly. - Step 4: Route Data Cable and Install Door Lock
Route the data cable through the bar. Insert the exterior assembly into the door hole. Make sure the settings key is at the top left, and the data line goes through the spring and the back handle. - Step 5: Connect Rear Panel to Data Cables
Connect the data cable from the exterior assembly to the corresponding port on the interior assembly. Ensure terminals are connected according to red markings to prevent failure. - Step 6: Install Batteries and Baffles
Install four AAA alkaline batteries into the corresponding slots, observing positive and negative terminals. Place the battery cover, ensuring the small round hole is in the upper left corner, matching the direction of the rear circuit board. - Step 7: Secure the Battery Cover
Press firmly down on the battery cover, then rotate the retaining ring in a clockwise direction to secure it. To open, press firmly and turn counter-clockwise.
APP Configuration
The Viladepot Smart Door Knob-D2 can be controlled and managed via the "Tuya Smart" app.
1. Download and Install the App:
Download and install the "Tuya Smart" app from your device's app store.
2. Pairing the Smart Lock:
- Open the Tuya Smart app, click the "+" icon, and then select "Add Device" to prepare for pairing.
- On the smart lock, enter "11" then press "SMART". Next, enter the default password "123456" and press "SMART" again. This puts the lock into pairing mode.
- After approximately 10 seconds, the device should automatically appear in the app. Click on it to complete the pairing process.
Note: If the device has already been added to another phone, it will not enter pairing mode but will go into standby mode.
3. Adding Fingerprints or Passwords:
- In the app, click on "Member Management".
- Select either "Fingerprint" or "Code" (password) to add new access credentials.
- Follow the in-app guide to complete the setup for each credential type. For fingerprints, place your finger on the sensor multiple times, adjusting the angle slightly for better recognition. Ensure your fingers and the sensor are clean and dry.

Operating Instructions
The Viladepot Smart Door Knob-D2 offers multiple ways to unlock your door:
1. Fingerprint Unlock:
Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor. The lock will unlock if the fingerprint is recognized.
2. Passcode Unlock:
Enter your registered 6-digit passcode on the keypad, then press the "SMART" button to unlock.
3. APP Unlock:
Open the "Tuya Smart" app on your smartphone. From the main screen, tap the unlock icon to remotely unlock the door.
4. Mechanical Key Unlock:
In case of emergency or battery depletion, use the provided mechanical backup keys to unlock the door manually.
Silent Mode:
To mute the "beep beep" sounds from the lock, open the Tuya Smart app, navigate to the lock's settings, click "more", and then select "Mute Settings" to enable or disable the sound.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement:
We recommend replacing the four AAA batteries every 180 days. Monitor the battery level weekly via the Tuya app. If the battery level drops below 30%, replace the batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Always use fully charged batteries.
Cleaning:
Ensure the fingerprint sensor and the lock's surface are kept clean and dry for optimal performance and recognition accuracy.
Troubleshooting (FAQ)
Q: Fingerprint recognition is not working.
A: If the smart lock has power, try again by changing to a different angle when placing your finger on the sensor. If the lock has no power, use a spare mechanical key to unlock the door and replace the batteries. If these methods do not resolve the issue, please contact customer support.
