5. Setup & Installation
The SUNPIE rock lights are designed for easy installation with their long extension wires. Follow these steps for proper setup:
- Plan Placement: Determine the desired locations for each of the 8 rock light pods on your vehicle's undercarriage. Consider areas that will provide optimal illumination and are protected from direct impact.
- Mounting: Use the provided screws, nuts, and rubber mounting pads to securely attach each light pod to your vehicle. The rubber pads help absorb vibrations and provide a snug fit.
- Wiring: Each light pod comes with a 4-meter extension wire. Route these wires carefully, avoiding moving parts, sharp edges, and heat sources. Secure the wires with zip ties or clips (not included) to prevent them from dangling.
- Power Connection: Connect the terminals of the extension cables to your vehicle's 12V DC battery. Ensure the positive (+) wire from the lights connects to the positive terminal of the battery, and the negative (-) wire connects to the negative terminal or a suitable ground point on the vehicle chassis.
- Test: Once all connections are made, turn on your vehicle's power to test the lights.
The included wires are sufficiently long to reach various installation points, simplifying the process.

6. Operation
Once properly installed and connected to a 12V power source, the SUNPIE rock lights will illuminate when power is supplied. Depending on your wiring setup, this could be controlled by a dedicated switch, your vehicle's accessory power, or directly to the battery (in which case they would be continuously on).
7. Maintenance
The SUNPIE rock lights are designed to be durable and low-maintenance due to their IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating. This means they are protected against dust ingress and immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, so you don't have to worry about moisture entering the interior of the lights.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the light pods with water and a mild soap to remove dirt and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the lens.
- Inspection: Regularly check the wiring and mounting points for any signs of wear, corrosion, or looseness. Tighten any loose screws and replace damaged wiring as needed.

8. Troubleshooting
- Lights not turning on:
- Check all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and correctly connected to the 12V power source (positive to positive, negative to negative/ground).
- Verify that the power source (e.g., battery, switch) is functioning correctly and providing 12V DC.
- Inspect wires for any cuts, pinches, or damage.
- Some lights not working:
- Check the individual connections for the non-working pods.
- Ensure the extension wire for that specific pod is not damaged.
- Flickering lights:
- Check for loose connections at the power source or individual light pods.
- Ensure the power supply is stable and not fluctuating.
9. User Tips
- For optimal light distribution, consider mounting the pods evenly around the vehicle's undercarriage.
- When routing wires, use protective conduits or sleeves in areas exposed to extreme heat or abrasion to prolong wire life.
- If you plan to use the lights frequently, consider adding an inline fuse to the power connection for added circuit protection.
