3. Components

The V-Protector consists of the following main components:

  • Digital Display: Shows real-time voltage and current values, and setting parameters.
  • Control Buttons: 'M' (Menu), Up arrow, Down arrow, Power button.
  • Input Terminals: N (Neutral) and L (Live) for power input.
  • Output Terminals: N (Neutral) and L (Live) for protected load output.
  • DIN Rail Clip: For easy installation on a 35mm DIN rail.

4. Installation

Safety Warning: Installation should only be performed by a qualified electrician. Ensure the main power supply is disconnected before installation to prevent electric shock.

  1. Mounting: The V-Protector is designed for 35mm DIN rail installation. It can be installed inside a regular meter box.

  3. Wiring: Connect the V-Protector according to the wiring diagram below. Ensure correct polarity for Neutral (N) and Live (L) connections for both input (Power in) and output (Output) terminals. The V-Protector should be connected in series with the circuit breaker protecting the load.

  5. Secure Connections: Ensure all wire connections are tight and secure to prevent loose contacts and potential hazards.

5. Operation

Once installed and power is restored, the V-Protector will display the current voltage. You can adjust various protection parameters using the control buttons.

5.1. Parameter Settings

Use the 'M' button to cycle through the setting menu options (P-1, P-3, P-4, P-5, P-6). Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to adjust the values for each parameter. The Power button can be used to confirm settings or exit the menu.

5.2. Restore Factory Settings

To restore the V-Protector to its factory default settings:

  1. Push the Power button to turn off the load.
  2. Long press the Power button for 5 seconds.

6. Maintenance

The V-Protector requires minimal maintenance. Keep the device clean and free from dust. Periodically check the wiring connections to ensure they remain secure. Do not attempt to open or repair the device yourself, as this may void the warranty and pose a safety risk.

If you encounter issues with your V-Protector, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Device not powering on: Check the main power supply and ensure all wiring connections are correct and secure.
  • Frequent tripping: Review your set over-voltage, under-voltage, and over-current parameters. They might be set too sensitively for your electrical environment. Adjust the delay times (P-1, P-6) if necessary.
  • Incorrect voltage/current reading: Ensure the device is correctly wired and that the input voltage is within the specified working range.
