Cleaning
- Disconnect the keyboard from your computer before cleaning.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution to wipe down the keycaps and keyboard surface.
- For deeper cleaning, keycaps can be carefully removed using a keycap puller (not included) and washed with mild soap and water. Ensure they are completely dry before reattaching.
- Use compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keys.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the keyboard's finish or keycap legends.
Troubleshooting
- Keyboard not responding: Ensure the Type-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer. Try connecting to a different USB port or a different computer to rule out port issues.
- RGB lighting not working or incorrect: Check the keyboard software for lighting settings. Ensure the software is up-to-date. If using default modes, try cycling through them using the keyboard's function keys (refer to the PDF manual for specific key combinations).
- Specific keys not working: If a single key is not responding, it might be a faulty switch. Since the K500 is hot-swappable, you can replace the switch. Carefully remove the keycap and then the switch using a switch puller (not included) and replace it with a new compatible 3-pin switch.
- Software issues: If you experience problems with the customization software, try reinstalling it from the official Machenike website.
If you encounter persistent issues, please refer to the comprehensive troubleshooting section in the official user manual PDF or contact customer support.
