3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Wearing Methods

The AR-W6 offers two convenient wearing styles:

  1. **Ear Hanging:** Wear the walkie talkie directly on your ear using the provided earhooks.
  2. **Collar Clip:** Attach the walkie talkie to your collar, chest, or pocket using the included clip.

3.2 Charging the Device

The AR-W6 uses a Type-C charging port, offering wide compatibility with various charging devices such as car chargers, power banks, and laptops. This allows for flexible charging anytime, anywhere.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Device Layout

4.2 Power ON/OFF

  • **To Power ON:** Flip the power switch down. The blue indicator light will illuminate, indicating successful power-on.
  • **To Power OFF:** Flip the power switch up. The walkie-talkie will turn off.

4.3 Channel Switching

  1. In the ON state, short press the **[M] key** once. The device will voice broadcast the current channel number, indicating entry into channel switching mode.
  2. Use the **[Up]** or **[Down]** key to cycle through channels. The device will voice broadcast the channel number in real-time during adjustment.
  3. After selecting the desired channel, press the **[M] key** again to exit channel adjustment mode.

4.4 Volume Adjustment

The AR-W6 supports 8 levels of volume (1 to 8).

  • Short press the **[Up]** key to increase the volume level.
  • Short press the **[Down]** key to decrease the volume level.

4.5 PTT (Push-to-Talk) Operation

The walkie-talkie features dual PTT buttons for efficient communication. Simply press and hold either PTT button to transmit your voice, and release to listen.

4.6 Wireless Copy Frequency

This feature allows you to quickly search and copy frequencies from other walkie talkies without the need for PC programming. This is ideal for quickly setting up communication with other devices in the field.

4.7 VOX Control Function

If enabled through the programming software and a voice control level is set, the device can transmit automatically when you speak into the MIC while in standby mode. If no voice is detected for a set period (configured via software), it will automatically exit transmission and return to standby.

4.8 Power Saving Function

This mode can be activated or deactivated via the programming software to optimize battery life.

4.9 Automatic Power Off Function

You can set an automatic shutdown time using the programming software. If the radio detects no activity or call events within this set time, it will automatically power off.

4.10 Timeout Timer (TOT) Function

The programming software allows you to set a maximum transmission time limit. If this limit is exceeded during transmission, the radio will automatically stop transmitting to prevent prolonged channel occupation.

4.11 Frequency Jumping Function

This radio supports one-key frequency jumping. This mode can be enabled or disabled through the programming software, eliminating the need to configure each channel individually.

4.12 Voice Prompt Function

The device provides high-definition voice prompts for various statuses, including channel number announcements and low battery warnings.

4.13 Tone Function

Key operation prompt sounds can be enabled or disabled via the programming software.
