4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Important Considerations
- Non-Parallel Limitation: This 7.2KW inverter is a single-unit design and does NOT support parallel operation. Ensure all PV strings and batteries are connected to this single inverter to avoid system malfunctions.
- Wire Connections: Always ensure AC wires are connected with correct polarity. If L and N wires are connected reversely, it may cause utility short-circuit when these inverters are worked in parallel operation (though this model does not support parallel, correct polarity is always crucial).
- Appliance Restart Time: Appliances such as air conditioners require at least 2-3 minutes to restart. A power shortage and quick recovery can damage connected appliances. Check if your air conditioner is equipped with a time-delay function before installation.
4.2 Wiring Diagrams
Refer to the following diagrams for proper connection in split-phase and single-phase modes. Professional installation is highly recommended.

4.3 Battery Connection
The inverter is compatible with 48V Lead-Acid (AGM, GEL, FLD, SLD) and Lithium (LI, USER) batteries. Ensure the battery voltage is within the specified range (40.0Vdc~58.6Vdc) and connect with correct polarity. The maximum battery charging current is 150A.

5. Operating Instructions

5.3 Time-Slot Charging/Discharging Function
The POW-SunSmart series is equipped with a time-slot charging and discharging function, allowing users to set different charging and discharging periods according to local peak and valley tariffs. This optimizes utility power and PV energy usage, helping to reduce electricity costs.

5.4 Monitoring and Control via SmartESS App
Pair your inverter with the SmartESS APP/Software. The built-in Wi-Fi transmitter allows you to monitor your hybrid inverter from anywhere via Wi-Fi. Registration is required, and the Wi-Fi module may need to be purchased separately.

6. Maintenance
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check all wiring connections for tightness and signs of corrosion.
- Cleaning: Keep the inverter's ventilation openings clear of dust and debris to ensure proper cooling. Use a dry cloth for cleaning the exterior.
- Firmware Updates: Check for available OTA (Over-The-Air) firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
- Battery Health: If using batteries, monitor their health and charge levels regularly.
