Please read all safety warnings carefully before installation and use.
- Before installation, disconnect the negative pole of the car battery and wait 5-10 minutes for the original car capacitor to fully discharge. This prevents short circuits that may damage the original car ECU, Android head unit, and this device. Reconnect the negative pole of the battery after installation. Do not plug or unplug the device interface when the battery is not disconnected.
- When the vehicle is in the starting state (including idling), it is forbidden to perform installation, wiring, or plugging/unplugging operations. This prevents high-voltage electric shock and damage to the device and the original vehicle's circuit system. Do not touch the metal contacts of the vehicle's circuit interface during installation.
- This product uses a dedicated integrated connector, which does not damage the original vehicle wiring harness. It can be directly plugged and played without manual wiring, avoiding wiring errors. When connecting, gently push the connector into place, and do not plug or unplug it violently to prevent interface damage.
- This product has no signal amplification or electrical isolation function. It is only used for signal conversion and CAN data decoding. It is strictly prohibited to use it in a circuit system beyond product specifications, connect it in series with other signal amplification equipment, or privately modify the product circuit or interface.
- During installation and use, keep away from open flames and high-temperature sources (such as engines, exhaust pipes) to avoid heat aging and short circuits of the device shell and wiring harness, which may cause potential safety hazards.
- It is strictly prohibited for minors and those without basic automotive circuit knowledge to perform installation operations independently. Professional personnel should perform installation and commissioning to avoid equipment damage or personal safety issues.
- If the device emits smoke, peculiar smell, abnormal heat, or other conditions, immediately disconnect the negative pole of the car battery, stop using it, and contact the manufacturer's after-sales service. Do not disassemble and inspect it yourself to prevent electric shock or further damage.
- When the vehicle is parked for a long time (more than 15 days), it is recommended to disconnect the negative pole of the car battery to avoid battery depletion caused by slight power consumption of the device.
- Incorrect selection of vehicle model or CAN Bus protocol will lead to failure to display original vehicle data, invalid steering wheel buttons, and other problems. If functional adaptation abnormalities occur, contact the manufacturer for an adaptation plan.
2. Product Overview
The pinmany FDC9 Car Radio Wiring Harness Adapter with CAN Bus Decoder is designed for aftermarket installation of Android head units. Its primary function is to adapt and connect the original vehicle wiring harness to the Android head unit, read and parse vehicle CAN Bus data, and provide data support for the installation, debugging, and function adaptation of the Android head unit. It also ensures stable connection between the Android head unit and the vehicle power supply, as well as smooth output of speaker audio signals.
The product consists of a CAN Bus decoder and a dedicated cable adapter. The decoder features a high-performance chip for accurate CAN Bus protocol identification. The cable adapter uses a foolproof docking design, preventing damage to the original vehicle's wiring harness and ensuring stable signal transmission. Components are made from flame-retardant ABS plastic and pure copper core wire with PVC insulation for durability and anti-interference.
Special Note:
- This product is only compatible with 16-pin specific interfaces.
- It adapts to Android large-screen head units equipped with a UART communication interface.
- Compatibility may vary slightly depending on vehicle brand, model, and year. Mainstream models achieve full-function adaptation, while some niche or older models may have incomplete adaptation.

- CAN Bus Signal Decoding: The CAN Bus decoder accurately adapts to the original vehicle's CAN Bus protocol and parses core data such as car key switch (ACC), reverse gear, small lights, steering wheel buttons, on-board computer data, and door switch status. This data is converted for the Android head unit to ensure normal display and synchronous presentation of original vehicle information.
- Steering Wheel Button Adaptation: Decodes steering wheel button commands, supporting common operations like volume adjustment and song switching. Some models may require additional setting of learning-type buttons.
- Original Vehicle Function Compatibility: Enables two-way signal transmission between the Android head unit and the original vehicle system, ensuring original vehicle functions (e.g., air conditioning control, light adjustment, fault feedback) are not affected.
- No Damage to Original Vehicle Wiring Harness, Plug and Play: The dedicated connector design allows direct plug-and-play installation without manual wiring or cutting, simplifying the process and preventing errors.
5. Installation Steps
This section outlines the general installation procedure. Always refer to the safety warnings before beginning.
- Power Off Preparation: Disconnect the negative pole of the car battery and wait 5-10 minutes for the original car capacitor to fully discharge to prevent short circuits.
- Remove the Original Vehicle Host: Gently pry open the original vehicle's center console panel. Unscrew the fixing screws of the original vehicle host and pull out all wiring harness plugs from the rear. It is recommended to take photos to record the position of the plugs for easy reassembly.
- Dock the Harness: Connect one end of the cable harness adapter connector to the corresponding plug of the original vehicle wiring harness. The foolproof design prevents incorrect insertion. Firmly connect the other end to the CAN Bus decoder.
- Connect the Android Head Unit: Connect the other end of the cable harness adapter connector to the corresponding interface of the Android head unit, ensuring all interfaces are tightly connected.
- Fix the Device: Place the CAN Bus decoder in a dry, ventilated area within the center console, away from high-temperature and water-prone areas. Secure it firmly with cable ties and organize all wiring harnesses to avoid winding and extrusion.
- Power-On Test: Reconnect the negative pole of the car battery, turn on the vehicle's ACC power, start the Android head unit, complete the CAN Bus vehicle model setting (see Operating section), and test all functions.
- Reset Installation: After confirming all functions are normal, push the Android head unit into the center console, screw on the fixing screws, reinstall the center console panel, and press it firmly to ensure no looseness or abnormal noise.

6. Operating: CAN Bus Setting Guide (Mandatory)
After physical installation, configure the CAN Bus settings on your Android head unit:
- Enter the main interface of the Android head unit, find and click the [Settings] icon (usually a gear icon).
- Find "Factory Settings" in the Settings interface. Enter the Factory Settings password (consult your head unit vendor if unknown; common passwords include 3368, 1617, 8317, 8888). Slide down to find the [CAN Bus Settings] option and click to enter.
- In the CAN Bus Settings interface, select [Decoder Brand] (e.g., "Raise") and then find the vehicle model corresponding to your car's brand and production year (e.g., "Ford Mondeo 2007~2012").
- After selecting the correct vehicle model, the system will automatically match the CAN Bus protocol. Click [Save] or [Confirm].
- The head unit will restart automatically (some models may not require a restart). After restarting, the original vehicle data should be recognized normally, and the setting is complete.
Kind Reminder:
If your specific vehicle model is not found, you can select a general model compatible with the vehicle protocol, or contact the manufacturer for adaptation settings. Due to differences in vehicle brand, model, and year, some models may have incomplete functional adaptation, which is within the normal compatibility range. The manufacturer will provide the optimal adaptation suggestion according to the vehicle model.

7. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your FDC9 adapter, follow these guidelines:
- Proper Placement: Ensure the CAN Bus decoder is placed in a dry, ventilated area away from high temperatures and moisture. Avoid placing it near engines or exhaust pipes.
- Cable Management: Do not pull, bend, or squeeze the cable harness violently. This can damage the pure copper core wire or loosen connections, affecting signal transmission.
- Avoid Impact: The CAN Bus decoder is a precision component. Avoid colliding with or squeezing it to prevent damage to the internal chip.
- No Unauthorized Disassembly: Do not disassemble the CAN Bus decoder privately. Unauthorized disassembly will void the warranty and may cause further damage.
- Long-Term Storage: If the vehicle is parked for more than 15 days, disconnect the negative pole of the car battery to prevent battery depletion.
