6. Operating Modes

The smart switch supports three working modes: Inching, Self-locking, and Interlock. These modes can be configured within the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app.

  • Inching Mode (Default 1s): When the relay is activated, it will automatically turn off after a set duration (default 1 second). The inching time can be customized from 2 seconds to 3600 seconds in the app. This mode is ideal for momentary actions like opening a garage door or a gate.
  • Self-locking Mode: Each channel operates independently. Pressing the button (physical or in-app) turns the relay ON, and pressing it again turns it OFF. This is suitable for controlling lights or other devices that need to be toggled on/off.
  • Interlock Mode: When one relay is turned ON, all other relays on the same device are automatically turned OFF. This mode is useful for controlling devices where only one output should be active at a time, such as motor direction control (forward/reverse).

  1. Ensure your smart switch is powered on.
  2. In the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app, navigate to the device settings.
  3. Look for an option related to "RF Remote Control Setup" or "Add Remote Control".
  4. Follow the in-app instructions, which typically involve pressing a button on the smart switch (e.g., the "Reset" button or a specific pairing button) and then pressing a button on your 433MHz remote control within a short timeframe.
  5. Once successfully paired, you can assign functions (e.g., ON/OFF for specific channels) to the remote control buttons through the app.
