2. Safety Instructions
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, eye protection, and a mask when handling chemicals.
- Do not use flammable, corrosive, or highly viscous liquids in the sprayer.
- Never point the nozzle at people or animals.
- Do not over-pressurize the tank. The working pressure is 2-3 Bar.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Depressurize the sprayer before opening the tank or performing any maintenance.
3. Product Components
Your Adler Hand Pressurized Sprayer typically includes the following parts:
- Sprayer Tank (5L or 8L capacity)
- Pump Handle and Piston Assembly
- Pressure Release Valve
- Hose
- Spray Lance with Adjustable Nozzle
- Shoulder Strap (for 8L model, optional for 5L)

4. Setup and Assembly
- Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Attach Hose: Connect the hose securely to the sprayer tank outlet and the spray lance handle. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
- Assemble Lance: Screw the adjustable nozzle onto the end of the spray lance.
- Attach Shoulder Strap (if applicable): For the 8L model (AD 5011) or if your 5L model (AD 5010) includes one, attach the shoulder strap to the designated loops on the tank for easier carrying.

5. Operating Instructions
- Prepare Liquid: Mix your desired liquid (e.g., water, fertilizer, pesticide) according to its instructions.
- Fill Tank: Unscrew the pump handle assembly from the tank. Pour the prepared liquid into the tank, ensuring not to exceed the maximum fill line.
- Secure Pump: Screw the pump handle assembly back onto the tank tightly.
- Pressurize: Pump the handle up and down repeatedly until resistance is felt and the tank is pressurized. Do not over-pump. The working pressure is 2-3 Bar.
- Spray: Press the trigger on the spray lance handle to begin spraying.
- Adjust Nozzle: Rotate the nozzle tip to adjust the spray pattern from a fine mist to a direct stream.
- Depressurize: After use, or before opening the tank, pull the pressure release valve (usually a small knob or lever on the pump assembly) to release all remaining pressure.

6. Maintenance
- Clean After Each Use: After depressurizing, empty any remaining liquid. Fill the tank with clean water, pressurize, and spray until the tank is empty to flush out the hose and nozzle.
- Clean Nozzle: If the nozzle becomes clogged, unscrew it and rinse thoroughly with water. A small brush or needle can help clear stubborn blockages.
- Check Seals: Periodically inspect all O-rings and seals for wear or damage. Replace them if necessary to maintain proper pressure.
- Lubricate Pump: Apply a small amount of silicone grease or petroleum jelly to the pump piston O-ring occasionally to ensure smooth operation and a good seal.
- Storage: Store the sprayer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and freezing temperatures. Ensure the tank is empty and depressurized before storage.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No pressure or low pressure | Loose connections, worn O-rings/seals, insufficient pumping, clogged nozzle | Tighten all connections. Inspect and replace O-rings/seals. Pump more times. Clean nozzle. |
| Uneven spray pattern or dripping | Clogged nozzle, damaged nozzle tip | Clean the nozzle thoroughly. Replace the nozzle if damaged. |
| Liquid leaks from tank or connections | Loose connections, damaged O-rings/seals, cracked tank | Tighten connections. Inspect and replace O-rings/seals. If tank is cracked, discontinue use and replace. |
| Pump handle is stiff or hard to operate | Dry O-ring on pump piston, debris in pump cylinder | Lubricate the pump piston O-ring. Clean the pump cylinder. |

- When spraying, maintain a consistent distance from the target for even coverage.
- If using the shoulder strap, adjust it for comfortable weight distribution to reduce fatigue during longer tasks.
- Consider having a dedicated sprayer for herbicides and another for fertilizers/insecticides to prevent cross-contamination.
