4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Keyboard

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the keyboard. Connect the provided TYPE-C data cable to the keyboard's Type-C port and the other end to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, wall adapter).

4.2 Connecting the Keyboard

The VK99 Pro supports three connection modes: Wired, 2.4G Wireless, and Bluetooth.

4.2.1 Wired Connection

Ensure the keyboard's mode switch (usually on the back or side) is set to 'Wired' or 'USB'.
Connect the TYPE-C data cable from the keyboard to your computer's USB port.
The keyboard should be recognized automatically by your operating system (Windows/macOS).

4.2.2 2.4G Wireless Connection

Locate the 2.4G USB receiver (dongle) in the keyboard packaging.
Plug the 2.4G USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
Set the keyboard's mode switch to '2.4G'.
The keyboard should connect automatically. If not, press and hold the designated pairing key (refer to keyboard legends if available) for a few seconds until the indicator light flashes, then release.

4.2.3 Bluetooth Connection

Set the keyboard's mode switch to 'Bluetooth'.
On your computer or device, enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
The keyboard should appear as "VALKYRIE VK99 Pro" or similar. Select it to pair.
If prompted, enter the pairing code displayed on your screen using the keyboard, then press Enter.
The keyboard supports both Windows and macOS. Use the OS switch on the keyboard (if present, often labeled 'Win'/'Mac') to select the correct operating system mode for optimal key mapping.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Keyboard Functions

The VK99 Pro functions as a standard 98-key mechanical keyboard. All standard alphanumeric and function keys operate as expected. The 1ms ultra-core response ensures minimal latency, ideal for gaming.

5.2 RGB Backlighting Control

The keyboard features 16.8 million RGB colors with dynamic lighting effects. Specific key combinations (often Fn + arrow keys or other designated keys) can be used to cycle through lighting modes, adjust brightness, and change colors. Refer to the keyboard's legends or the official software for advanced customization.

5.3 Volume Knob

The dedicated volume knob allows for quick and easy adjustment of audio levels. It is hot-swappable, meaning it can be removed and replaced without soldering, offering customization options.

5.4 Battery Life Management

The 8000mAh battery provides extended usage. With RGB lighting on, the keyboard can operate for approximately 60 hours. With lighting off, it can last up to 35 days (based on laboratory test data). Charge the keyboard when the battery indicator shows low power.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Keyboard

Regular cleaning helps maintain the keyboard's performance and appearance. Use the provided keyboard brush to remove dust and debris from between the keycaps. For deeper cleaning, you can use the key puller to remove keycaps and clean the plate underneath. A soft, damp cloth can be used to wipe the surface of the keyboard.

Always ensure the keyboard is disconnected from power before cleaning.

6.2 Hot-Swapping Switches and Keycaps

The VK99 Pro features hot-swappable switches, allowing you to change switches without soldering. Use the provided shaft puller to carefully remove switches. To replace keycaps, use the key puller. Ensure proper alignment when inserting new switches or keycaps to avoid damage.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Keyboard Not Responding

Check Connection: Ensure the keyboard is properly connected in your chosen mode (wired, 2.4G, or Bluetooth). For wireless modes, verify the receiver is plugged in (2.4G) or Bluetooth is paired.
Battery Level: If in wireless mode, check if the battery is charged. Connect the Type-C cable to charge.
Mode Switch: Confirm the mode switch on the keyboard is set to the correct connection type.
Operating System Switch: If using macOS, ensure the 'Win/Mac' switch is set to 'Mac'.

7.2 Keys Not Registering or Double-Typing

Switch Issue: The VK99 Pro uses hot-swappable switches. A faulty switch might be the cause. Use the shaft puller to remove the problematic switch and replace it with one of the spare switches provided or a new compatible switch.
Dust/Debris: Clean around and under the keycaps using the provided brush.

7.3 RGB Backlighting Not Working

Brightness: Ensure the brightness is not set to minimum. Adjust using the designated key combinations.

7.4 "Keycap Shaking" Issue

The Qianhui Axis used in the VK99 Pro is designed to minimize "keycap shaking" common in traditional mechanical shafts. If you experience excessive wobble, ensure the keycaps are properly seated and the switches are fully inserted into the PCB.
