6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your SMAILWOLF M3 PRO mouse, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the mouse surface. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure no moisture enters the mouse. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Sensor Care: Keep the optical sensor on the bottom of the mouse clean and free of dust or debris for accurate tracking.
- Battery Care: Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. For best battery health, charge the mouse when the low battery indicator appears. Store the mouse in a cool, dry place if not used for extended periods.
- Storage: When not in use, especially during travel, store the 2.4G wireless receiver in its dedicated slot on the bottom of the mouse to prevent loss.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your SMAILWOLF M3 PRO mouse, try the following solutions:
- Mouse not responding (Wired): Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the mouse and the computer, and the mouse is switched to wired mode. Try a different USB port.
- Mouse not responding (2.4G Wireless): Ensure the 2.4G receiver is securely plugged into a USB port, the mouse is switched to 2.4G mode, and the battery is charged. Try re-pairing by unplugging and replugging the receiver.
- Mouse not responding (Bluetooth): Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device, the mouse is in BT mode, and it's correctly paired (indicator light solid green). If not, try re-pairing as per section 4.3. Ensure the battery is charged.
- DPI not changing: Press the DPI adjust button firmly. If using custom software, ensure settings are applied correctly.
- Lag or erratic movement: Ensure the mouse surface is clean and suitable. For wireless modes, check for interference from other wireless devices or move closer to the receiver/device. Ensure the battery is not critically low.
- Charging issues: Ensure the USB-C cable is properly connected to the charging dock/mouse and the power source. Check if the charging dock's RGB lights are active.
If the problem persists, please contact customer support.
8. User Tips
- Customize DPI: Experiment with different DPI settings to find what feels most comfortable and precise for your specific tasks or games. Lower DPI is often preferred for precise aiming in FPS games, while higher DPI can be useful for faster navigation on large screens.
- Utilize the Charging Dock: Make it a habit to place your mouse on the magnetic charging dock when not in use. This ensures your mouse is always charged and ready, and you can enjoy the customizable RGB lighting.
- Ergonomics: The M3 PRO's lightweight and ergonomic design is built for comfort. Ensure your wrist is straight and supported to prevent strain during long sessions.
- Software Customization: For competitive gaming or specific workflows, download the SMAILWOLF driver software to unlock full customization options for buttons, macros, and performance settings.
