To prevent accidental key presses, you can lock the keypad through the radio's menu or a dedicated key combination (e.g., long press of a specific key).
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Clean the radio's surface with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure all port covers (e.g., accessory port, see Figure 4) are securely closed to maintain IP68 waterproofing.
2. Battery Care
- Always use the original charging base and power adapter.
- Do not expose the battery to extreme temperatures.
- If the radio will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place.
- Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
3. Waterproofing (IP68)
The DM-188 is IP68 waterproof, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and can withstand immersion in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. To maintain this rating, ensure:
- All port covers are tightly sealed.
- The antenna is securely attached.
- The battery cover is properly installed and latched.
Warning: Do not immerse the radio in water if any covers are open or damaged.
