6. Troubleshooting

6.1. General Notes

  • When connecting the adapter to a different cell phone, ensure the Bluetooth connection to the previous phone (named "AiBox") is disconnected before attempting to connect the new device.
  • Always confirm that your car model supports wired CarPlay/Android Auto.
  • Verify that the wireless adapter's power indicator light is on after connecting it to the car.

6.2. Common Issues and Solutions

Q: What is the Wi-Fi password for the CarPlay Wireless Adapter?
A: You connect via Bluetooth, not Wi-Fi directly. After successful Bluetooth pairing, Wi-Fi will automatically connect. There is no need for a Wi-Fi password. Ensure your phone's Wi-Fi is turned on and not occupied by other connections during pairing.
Q: Android Auto function cannot start or USB is not recognized after pairing.
A:
  • If this is the first time using Android Auto in your car, connect your Android phone via a USB data cable to activate Android Auto through a wired method first.
  • Ensure that the Android Auto application on your phone is updated to the latest version. Log into your Google Play account to update if necessary.
  • If you previously connected an iPhone, disconnect the iPhone's Bluetooth connection, restart your Android phone's Bluetooth, and then attempt to connect Android Auto wirelessly.
Q: Audio input or output issues (calls rejected/forwarded, no sound, microphone not working, music playback interrupted/paused, voice functioning abnormally).
A:
  • Check if your iPhone/Android smartphone's Bluetooth is connected to other devices (e.g., earphones, smartwatches). If so, disconnect these auto-connected Bluetooth devices or temporarily turn off your phone's Bluetooth, then reconnect to your vehicle's Bluetooth for CarPlay/Android Auto.
  • During a call, verify that your "Audio" output option is correctly set to CarPlay/Android Auto on your car's display.
Q: The indicator light of the adapter remains on after the car is turned off.
A: This is normal. Your car may not immediately cut off all power. The adapter's light will eventually turn off. Its power consumption is minimal and will not drain your car battery.
Q: Can my mobile phone use other internet Wi-Fi while using the wireless CarPlay/Android Auto Adapter?
A: When the wireless adapter is active, it occupies your phone's Wi-Fi connection for data transfer. Therefore, you cannot use other Wi-Fi networks simultaneously. You will need to use your phone's mobile data (SIM card internet) for other internet access.
Q: The device is unable to automatically reconnect.
A:
  • Ensure that your mobile phone's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functions are turned on and that Bluetooth is not occupied by other devices when you enter the car.
  • Clear the pairing record for "AiBox" from your phone's Bluetooth settings, restart your phone, and then re-pair the adapter.
Q: Can the adapter be paired with multiple phones?
A: The adapter can be paired with a maximum of five phones. However, only one device can be connected at a time. To pair with a new phone, you must first cancel the current connection. By default, the adapter's system will only auto-connect back to the last used phone.
Q: Cannot find the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi of the wireless CarPlay/Android Auto Adapter.
A:
  • Ensure the wireless CarPlay/Android Auto Adapter's power indicator light is on and that it is securely plugged into the correct USB port for wired CarPlay/Android Auto in your car.
  • If convenient, test the adapter with another phone. If only a specific phone cannot find the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, try resetting that phone's network and Bluetooth settings, then restart the phone. If the same problem occurs with other phones, the adapter may be defective.
