4. Setup and Installation
Before beginning installation, ensure your system is powered off and unplugged. Wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to components.
4.1 Motherboard Installation
- Install the I/O shield into your computer case's rear panel opening.
- Carefully align the motherboard with the standoffs in your case.
- Secure the motherboard with screws, ensuring it is firmly seated.
4.2 CPU Installation (LGA 2011-3)
- Locate the LGA 2011-3 socket on the motherboard.
- Open the CPU retention mechanism by pushing down and out on the lever(s).
- Carefully place the Intel Xeon E5 V3 CPU into the socket, aligning the gold triangle on the CPU with the corresponding mark on the socket. Ensure the CPU drops in without force.
- Close the retention mechanism by pushing the lever(s) back into place until they click.
- Apply a thin, even layer of thermal paste to the top of the CPU.
- Install your CPU cooler onto the CPU and secure it to the motherboard using the provided mounting bracket. Connect the CPU cooler fan cable to one of the 4-Pin CPU_FAN headers.
4.3 RAM Installation (DDR3)
- Locate the four DDR3 DIMM slots. For dual-channel operation, install memory modules into the orange slots first, then the black slots.
- Open the clips at both ends of the memory slot.
- Align the notch on the DDR3 RAM module with the key in the memory slot.
- Press down firmly on both ends of the RAM module until the clips snap into place.

4.4 Storage Device Installation
- **M.2 SSD**: Insert your M.2 NVME or NGFF SSD into the M.2 slot and secure it with the provided screw.
- **SATA Drives**: Connect your SATA 2.0 (3 Gb/s) hard drives or SSDs to the SATA ports using SATA data cables. Connect power from your power supply to the drives.

4.5 Expansion Card Installation
- **PCIe x16**: For a graphics card, insert it into the PCIe 3.0 x16 slot until it clicks. Secure it with the case screw.
- **PCIe x1**: For other expansion cards (e.g., sound card, network card), insert into the PCIe 2.0 x1 slot.
- **M.2 WIFI**: Install a compatible M.2 wireless module into the dedicated M.2 WIFI slot.
4.6 Power Connections
- Connect the 24-Pin ATX power connector from your power supply to the motherboard.
- Connect the 8-Pin ATX12V (CPU power) connector from your power supply to the motherboard.
- Connect any additional power cables required for your graphics card or other components.
4.7 Front Panel and Peripheral Connections
- Connect the front panel headers (Power SW, Reset SW, HDD LED, Power LED) to the FPANEL header on the motherboard. Refer to Figure 5 for header locations.
- Connect front panel USB 2.0 ports to the internal USB 2.0 header.
- Connect front panel audio to the F_AUDIO header.
- Connect peripherals (keyboard, mouse, monitor) to the rear I/O ports.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 First Boot and BIOS Setup
- After assembling all components, connect your monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
- Plug in the power cord and turn on the power supply.
- Press the power button on your computer case.
- During POST (Power-On Self-Test), repeatedly press the DEL or F2 key to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup utility.
- In the BIOS, verify that all installed components (CPU, RAM, storage) are detected correctly.
- Set the boot order to install your operating system from a USB drive or optical disc.
- Save changes and exit BIOS. The system will restart.
5.2 Operating System Installation
Follow the on-screen instructions to install your preferred operating system (Windows 7/10/11). After installation, install all necessary drivers for the motherboard components (chipset, LAN, audio, etc.) from the manufacturer's website or a provided driver disc (if applicable).
5.3 Power Consumption
The system's power consumption is approximately 50-70W at idle and 180-260W under full load, depending on the installed components (e.g., graphics card, additional drives).
6. Maintenance
- **Cleaning**: Regularly clean dust from inside your computer case, especially from CPU cooler fins and fan blades, using compressed air. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
- **BIOS Updates**: Check the MOUGOL support website periodically for BIOS updates. BIOS updates can improve system stability, compatibility, and performance. Follow the update instructions carefully to avoid damaging the motherboard.
- **Driver Updates**: Keep your operating system and device drivers updated for optimal performance and security.
- **CMOS Battery**: The motherboard uses a CR2032 CMOS battery. If system time or BIOS settings are lost after power-off, the battery may need replacement.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Solution |
|---|---|
| System does not power on. |
|
| No display on monitor. |
|
| System powers on but no POST/boot. |
|
| Operating system not detecting storage. |
|
| Network connection issues. |
|
8. User Tips
- **Memory Configuration**: For optimal performance, populate the orange DDR3 DIMM slots first to enable dual-channel memory mode.
- **M.2 Compatibility**: The M.2 slot supports both NVME and NGFF (SATA) M.2 SSDs. Ensure your SSD type matches the slot's capabilities for best performance.
- **Driver Installation**: Always install the latest drivers for your chipset, LAN, and audio from the official MOUGOL support page or the component manufacturers (e.g., Realtek) to ensure system stability and full functionality.
- **Power Supply**: Given the potential power consumption under full load (up to 260W for the kit itself, plus GPU), ensure you use a power supply unit (PSU) with sufficient wattage and reliable 8-pin ATX12V and 24-pin ATX connectors.
