4. Installation

It is highly recommended that this unit be installed by a professional technician. Ensure the unit is tested before full installation.

4.1. Pre-Installation Notes

  • The JOYING head unit does not support original car iPod, GPS antenna, backup rear camera, Bluetooth, USB, or microphone. You must use the provided accessories or compatible aftermarket parts.
  • Do not upgrade the ROM from unofficial sources (e.g., Malaysk on xda-developers forum) or install third-party brand apps not provided by Joying. Such actions can damage the head unit and void the warranty.

4.2. Mounting the Unit

The installation structure has been upgraded for better compatibility. The fixing position of the left and right brackets can be extended or telescoped to achieve the best fit for your car center console. This design allows it to fit almost all double din car dashboards.

  • If your car is a Hyundai or Kia brand, please contact Joying support to get a different bracket if needed.
  • Ensure all connections are secure before powering on the unit.

4.3. Wiring Connections

Refer to the 'Device Dimensions and Rear Panel Connections' diagram (Figure 3) for port identification.

  • Power Port: Connect the ISO cable to your car's power harness.
  • Radio-ANT: Connect your car's radio antenna.
  • GPS ANT: Connect the provided GPS antenna.
  • WiFi: Connect the provided WiFi antenna.
  • 4G DIV / 4G PRI: Connect the provided 4G antennas for cellular data connectivity.
  • USB: Connect the provided USB cables for external storage or device charging.
  • MIC: Connect the external microphone for hands-free calling.
  • HDMI OUT: Connect an HDMI cable (not included) for external display output.
  • Optical OUT / Coaxial OUT: For digital audio output to external amplifiers or DSPs.
  • LIN / RIN: Left and Right audio input.
  • RL OUT / FL OUT / FR OUT: Rear Left, Front Left, Front Right audio outputs.

5.1. Basic Controls

The unit features a physical volume control knob for easy adjustment. Rotate left to decrease volume, rotate right to increase volume. Press the knob to mute/unmute audio.

5.3. Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto

5.4. Split-screen Multitasking

The split-screen feature allows you to run two applications simultaneously on the display.

  1. Tap the recent apps icon (usually a square or three vertical lines).
  2. Find the app you want to run in split-screen mode, then click the split-screen button (often represented by two rectangles) and tap it.
  3. The first app will display on the left side. Choose the second app from the recent apps list to display on the right.
