4. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble your Formill QK530 Rowing Machine. Refer to Figure 3 for component identification.
- Attach Stabilizers: Secure the Front Stabilizer and Middle Stabilizer to the Main Frame using the appropriate bolts and washers.
- Install Guide Rails: Connect the two Guide Rails to the Main Frame and the rear support.
- Mount Seat: Slide the Seat onto the Guide Rails. Ensure it moves smoothly. Attach the Seat Stoppers at the end of the rails.
- Attach Pedals: Secure the Left and Right Pedals to the Main Frame.
- Install Monitor and Holder: Attach the Monitor Holder to the Main Frame, then mount the Monitor onto the holder. Connect any necessary cables.
- Final Checks: Verify all bolts are securely tightened. Ensure the machine is stable on a level surface.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
The LCD monitor typically powers on automatically when activity is detected or a button is pressed. It will power off after a period of inactivity to save battery.
5.2 Adjusting Resistance
The QK530 features 16 levels of magnetic resistance. To adjust, turn the tension control knob located on the main unit. Turn clockwise for higher resistance (HIGH) and counter-clockwise for lower resistance (LOW).

5.3 Using the LCD Display
The LCD display provides real-time workout data. Use the 'MODE' button to cycle through different metrics (Speed, Calories, Time, Distance, Strokes, Total Strokes). The 'SCAN' function will automatically cycle through all metrics. Use 'SET' to set target values and 'RESET' to clear current workout data.

5.5 Proper Rowing Technique
For an effective and safe workout, maintain proper rowing form:
- The Catch: Sit tall, arms extended forward, knees bent, shins vertical.
- The Drive: Push off with your legs, then lean back slightly, and finally pull the handle towards your abdomen.
- The Finish: Legs extended, body leaned back, handle at your abdomen, elbows past your body.
- The Recovery: Extend arms forward, then lean forward, and finally bend knees to return to the catch position.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe down the machine with a damp cloth after each use to remove sweat and dust. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Lubrication: Periodically check the seat rollers and guide rails. If movement becomes rough, clean the rails and apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant.
