4.2. Controls and Indicators
The Powerwall is equipped with an Air Switch, an Active Balance Switch, and a Fire Protection Device. Refer to Figure 5 for their locations.
- Air Switch: Controls the main power flow to and from the battery.
- Active Balance Switch: Used to balance cell voltages.
- Fire Protection Device: An internal safety mechanism that activates at 180°C to release fire extinguishing material. If activated, the battery will not operate normally.

5. Maintenance
5.1. Active Balance Switch Usage
While the battery uses new Grade A cells, a voltage gap may develop after approximately six months of use. To address this:
- Turn on the Active Balance Switch.
- Cycle the battery (charge and discharge) approximately three times.
- The battery voltage should return to normal.
- Turn off the Active Balance Switch.
Note: The battery's overall capacity may be temporarily affected while the active balance switch is turned on.
5.2. General Care
- Keep the battery in a dry environment.
- Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Ensure proper ventilation around the unit.
- Regularly check connections for tightness and corrosion.
6. Troubleshooting
- Battery Not Starting Normally: If the fire protection device has activated (due to internal temperature reaching 180°C), the battery will not start. Inspect the unit and contact support.
- Voltage Imbalance: If cell voltages become unbalanced, follow the Active Balance Switch Usage instructions in Section 5.1.
- Communication Issues: Ensure all communication cables (RS485, CAN, RS232) are securely connected and that the correct drivers/software are installed for PC monitoring.
- General Technical Problems: For any technical issues not covered in this manual, please contact Tewaycell customer support.
