1. Product Introduction
The MOES NA503F is a versatile detection and alarm device designed to monitor carbon monoxide (CO), combustible gases, and smoke, depending on the specific model. It also features integrated temperature and humidity sensors. With its replaceable plug design, it offers easy installation and true plug-and-play convenience. A built-in emergency backup battery ensures continuous monitoring and alarm functions during power outages. When hazardous levels of CO, combustible gases, or smoke are detected, the device triggers a high-decibel audible alarm and a flashing visual warning, serving as a constant guardian for safety in homes and specialized environments.
Note: The product is available in EU and US plug versions. Each plug version comes in 4 models, and the types of gases detected vary by model. Please confirm the model before purchase.

Figure 7: Front view of the device with labeled screen elements and buttons.
Key Screen Elements:
- CO Value: Displays current Carbon Monoxide concentration in PPM.
- Temp Value: Displays current ambient temperature.
- Hum Value: Displays current ambient humidity.
- Indicator Light: Changes color (Green, Yellow, Red) based on detection levels.
- Smoke Sign: (For CO & Smoke / CO & Gas & Smoke models) Indicates smoke detection.
- GAS Sensitivity: (For CO & Combustible Gas / CO & Gas & Smoke models) Displays sensitivity level (S1 for low, S2 for high).
3.2 Button Functions
- Power/Self-Test Button (Short Press):
- Powers the device on/off when operating on battery power (cannot be shut down when plugged in).
- Initiates a self-test when the device is plugged in.
- Mute ON/OFF Button (Short Press):
- Temporarily mutes the buzzer during a yellow alert cycle. The buzzer will reactivate if the concentration returns to green and then re-enters the yellow range.
- Mute ON/OFF Button (Long Press):
- Unmutes the device. Note: The red alarm cannot be turned off.
- Brightness/GAS Sensitivity Adjustment Button (Short Press):
- Adjusts screen brightness through three levels: 100%, 50%, and 0% (screen off).
- Brightness/GAS Sensitivity Adjustment Button (Long Press):
- Switches GAS sensitivity. Default is S1 (low sensitivity) for CH4. S2 (high sensitivity) is for butane, alcohol, and other combustible gases.

3.3 Three-Level Indicator Light Guide
The device uses a multi-color indicator light to visually communicate the detected levels:
- Green Breathing (Safe Level):
- CO concentration: 0-49 ppm.
- Combustible gas concentration: Less than 5% LEL.
- Indicator: Emerald green breathing light flashes.
- Alarm: No audible alarm.
- Yellow Breathing (Danger Level):
- CO concentration: 50-99 ppm OR Combustible gas concentration: Greater than or equal to 5% LEL and less than 15% LEL.
- Indicator: Yellow breathing light flashes.
- Alarm: Audible alarm.
- Red Alarm (Alarm Level - Cannot Be Turned Off):
- CO concentration: More than 99 ppm OR Combustible gas concentration: Greater than or equal to 15% LEL.
- Indicator: Red breathing light flashes.
- Alarm: Continuous audible alarm (cannot be muted).

4. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your MOES detector, regular maintenance is recommended. This includes:
- Regular Testing: Perform self-tests periodically to ensure the alarm functions correctly.
- Keep Unobstructed: Ensure the device's ventilation openings are not blocked by dust or other objects.
- Cleanliness: Gently wipe the exterior of the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Ventilation: Ensure the installation area is well-ventilated.
Note: The warranty does not cover maintenance operations specified in the user manual; users are responsible for performing these tasks themselves.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 General Issues
- Device not powering on: Ensure it is properly plugged into a live socket or that the internal battery is charged.
- False alarms: Ensure the device is not placed near sources of high concentration of gases (e.g., strong cleaning agents, aerosols) or in areas with extreme temperature/humidity fluctuations.
- Alarm sounds: If the alarm sounds, immediately evacuate the area. Do not use electrical switches or open flames. Call emergency services from a safe location.
5.2 Important Warnings
Warning! Improper use may cause electric shock, injury, or damage. Consult a licensed electrician if in doubt. This device is for reference only and not a substitute for professional judgment.
5.3 Further Assistance
If you encounter persistent problems with installation or operation, please review the product data sheet available at: https://www.moestech.com/blogs/news/s03-cg

6. User Tips
- Initial Setup: After powering on, the combustible gas sensor requires approximately 30 seconds to preheat before normal monitoring begins.
- Temperature Calibration: Each time external power is connected, the internal temperature sensor requires a 30-minute calibration due to preheating effects from the gas detector on temperature measurement.
- Red Alarm Behavior: During a red alarm (Level 3), brightness cannot be adjusted, the alarm cannot be muted, and the screen cannot be turned off. The screen will automatically switch to 100% brightness.
- Screen Off Mode: When the screen is off (0% brightness), the RGB indicator light will still flash at a low frequency to indicate operational status.
- Regular Checks: Always ensure the device is well-ventilated, powered, and unobstructed. Perform regular self-tests.
