Setup and Initial Winding

Your OLEVS 9910 watch features an automatic self-wind mechanical movement, which means it is powered by the motion of your wrist. However, for initial setup or after a period of inactivity, manual winding may be required.

Manual Winding:

To manually wind the watch, rotate the crown clockwise several times (approximately 20-30 rotations) while it is in its normal, pushed-in position. This will provide enough power reserve to start the watch and allow the automatic winding mechanism to take over with regular wear.

Setting Time and Date:

  1. Adjusting the Week: Use the function button on the left side of the watch case to adjust the day of the week subdial.
  2. Adjusting the Month: Use the month adjustment button (typically a recessed button on the side) to set the month subdial.
  3. Adjusting the Calendar Window (Date): Use the calendar adjustment button (another recessed button) to set the date displayed in the calendar window.
  4. Setting the Time: Pull out the crown to the time-setting position. Rotate the crown to move the hands clockwise or counter-clockwise until the desired time is displayed. Push the crown back in to secure the time.

Note on Calendar Adjustment: The calendar jump mechanism uses an independent gear system. The ones digit disk cycles from 0-9, and the tens digit disk cycles from 0-3. If the calendar window displays '39', this is a normal part of the mechanical gear transmission cycle and not a defect. You can manually adjust it to the 1st at the beginning of each month.

Operating Your Watch

Your OLEVS 9910 watch is designed with several features for daily use:

Automatic Movement:

The watch is powered by an automatic self-winding mechanical movement. Regular daily wear (approximately 8-10 hours) will keep the watch wound. If the watch stops due to lack of movement, simply wind it manually as described in the 'Setup' section.

Luminous Display:

The watch features a high-definition luminous coating on its hands and markers. This coating absorbs light quickly, allowing for clear and barrier-free reading in low-light conditions or at night.

Skeleton Flywheel Design:

The watch incorporates an elaborate hollow flywheel design, showcasing the intricate mechanical movement and adding a unique aesthetic appeal.

Complete Calendar Function:

The watch includes a complete calendar function with dedicated subdials for the day of the week and month, in addition to the date window. These can be adjusted using the side buttons as described in the 'Setup' section.

Care and Maintenance

Water Resistance:

Your OLEVS 9910 watch is water-resistant up to 30 meters (3 ATM). This means it is suitable for daily use and can withstand splashes, rain, and even a car wash. However, it is NOT suitable for swimming, diving, or prolonged submersion in water. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in to maintain water resistance.

Cleaning:

To clean your watch, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. For the stainless steel band, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish or internal components.

Storage:

When not wearing your watch for extended periods, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields. A watch winder can be used to keep the automatic movement running if you wish to avoid manual winding upon retrieval.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch not running: If the watch has stopped, it may need to be manually wound. Rotate the crown clockwise 20-30 times. Ensure you wear the watch regularly for the automatic movement to function.
  • Date/Day not changing correctly: Ensure the time is set correctly, especially past midnight. Avoid adjusting the date/day between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this is when the gears are engaged for automatic change and manual adjustment can cause damage.
  • Condensation under the crystal: If you notice condensation, it may indicate a breach in the water resistance. Have the watch inspected by a professional immediately to prevent further damage to the movement.
  • Luminous function not glowing: The luminous material needs to be exposed to light to charge. If it's not glowing, expose the watch to a bright light source for a few minutes.

User Tips

No specific user tips were found in the provided reviews or Q&A content. For general advice on mechanical watches:

  • Wear your automatic watch regularly to keep it wound. If you have multiple watches, consider a watch winder.
  • Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures or sudden temperature changes.
  • Keep your watch away from strong magnetic fields (e.g., speakers, refrigerators, certain electronic devices) as magnetism can affect the accuracy of mechanical movements.
