- For GPS Antenna (if applicable): Connect the external GPS antenna to the 3.5mm GPS Jack. Position the antenna where it has a clear view of the sky.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: The device will automatically power on when your vehicle starts and power off when the engine is turned off.
- Touch Screen: Navigate through menus and functions using the 10.26" IPS touch screen.
- Automatic Day & Night Mode: The display brightness will adjust automatically based on ambient light conditions.
6.2 Recording Functions
- Dual Camera Recording: The front (4K) and rear (1080P, if installed) cameras record simultaneously.
- Loop Recording: Recordings are saved in segments (1, 2, or 5 minutes, configurable in settings). When the memory card is full, the oldest files will be overwritten automatically to ensure continuous recording.
- G-Sensor: In case of a sudden impact or collision, the built-in 3-Axis G-Sensor will automatically lock the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten. Sensitivity can be adjusted (low, medium, high) in settings.
- Time Lapse Recording: This feature allows continuous monitoring over extended periods (2h, 8h, 12h, 24h) by recording at a lower frame rate (1fps), saving storage space.
- Night Vision: The UHD 4K Night Vision ensures clear recordings even in dim lighting conditions.
6.3 Display Modes
The H9Pro supports various display modes, including full screen, split screen (e.g., front/rear view, map/music), CarPlay mode, and Android Auto mode. Switch between these modes via the touch screen interface.
6.4 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto
- Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your smartphone.
- On the H9Pro, navigate to the CarPlay or Android Auto icon and select it.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your phone. Once connected, your phone's compatible apps will be displayed on the H9Pro screen, allowing for direct operation.
- Note: Huawei mobile phones are not supported for wireless CarPlay/Android Auto.
6.5 Wireless Mirror Link (AirPlay & Miracast)
This feature allows you to wirelessly transmit audio, video, and screen mirroring content from your mobile phone to the H9Pro device.
- For Apple Mobile Phones: Use AirPlay.
- For Android Mobile Phones: Use Miracast.
Refer to your phone's specific instructions for enabling AirPlay or Miracast and connecting to a display device.
6.6 ADAS Warning Systems
The ADAS system provides real-time voice alerts to help prevent accidents:
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW): Alerts you if your vehicle drifts out of its lane. If using a GPS active antenna, this triggers only above 50 KM/h. Without GPS, it triggers upon lane departure regardless of speed.
- Forward Collision Warning (FCW): Warns you of potential frontal collisions.
- Front Vehicle Starting Reminder (FVD): Alerts you when the vehicle in front starts moving. This function requires a GPS antenna to operate normally.
6.7 Audio Output Options
- Built-in Speaker: Audio plays directly from the device.
- FM Transmitter: Transmits audio to your car's FM radio. Set the H9Pro and your car radio to the same FM frequency (87.5MHz-108MHz). This connection only needs to be set up once.
- AUX Out Audio: Connect the provided AUX cable from the H9Pro to your car's AUX input for high-fidelity audio.
- Bluetooth Audio: For CarPlay or Android Auto use, connect your phone directly to your original car's Bluetooth system.
6.8 Real-time Reversing View
When your vehicle is put into reverse (and the rear camera is properly installed and wired), the H9Pro will automatically display a 1080P real-time view from the rear camera. This view includes adjustable reversing guide lines to assist with parking.
6.9 24-Hour Parking Monitoring
To enable 24-hour parking monitoring, you must connect the dash cam to a vehicle battery source using an additional buck line (sold separately). This provides a constant power supply, allowing the dash cam to continue recording even when the ignition is off. The G-Sensor will detect impacts and trigger recording in parking mode.
6.10 WiFi Connection and App Usage
The H9Pro features built-in 5GHz + 2.4GHz WiFi. Download the "Roadcam APP" on your smartphone. Connect your phone to the dash cam's WiFi network to:
- Preview real-time images.
- View historical recordings.
- Quickly download recorded videos and photos to your phone.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device's screen and lens. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Temperature: Operate and store the device within the specified working temperature range of -20℃ to 70℃. Extreme temperatures can damage the device.
- Memory Card: Regularly format your Micro SD/TF card (at least once a month) to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up important files before formatting.
- Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website or the Roadcam APP for any available firmware updates to improve performance and add new features.
8. Troubleshooting
- Device does not power on:
- Ensure the car charger is properly connected to both the dash cam and the vehicle's cigarette lighter. Check if the vehicle's power outlet is functioning.
- Recording stops or freezes:
- Check if the Micro SD/TF card is a Class 10 card and is inserted correctly. Format the memory card. If the issue persists, try a different, high-quality Class 10 memory card.
- Poor video quality:
- Ensure the camera lenses are clean. Check the video resolution settings. Ensure the protective film has been removed from the lenses.
- CarPlay/Android Auto not connecting:
- Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your phone. Restart both the dash cam and your phone. Check for any software updates for your phone or the dash cam. Note that Huawei phones are not supported for wireless CarPlay/Android Auto.
- ADAS features not working correctly:
- Ensure the GPS antenna is connected and has a clear view of the sky. For Lane Departure Warning, ensure your speed is above 50 KM/h if using a GPS antenna. For Front Vehicle Starting Reminder, a GPS antenna is required.
- No audio output:
- Check your selected audio output method (Built-in Speaker, FM Transmitter, AUX, Bluetooth). Ensure cables are connected securely for AUX, and FM frequency is matched for FM Transmitter. For Bluetooth, ensure your phone is connected to your car's Bluetooth.
- Rear camera not displaying:
- Ensure the rear camera cable is securely connected to the AV IN port. Check the rear camera's power connection (if separate). Verify that the rear camera option is enabled in the device settings.
9. User Tips
- For optimal ADAS performance, ensure your GPS antenna is installed correctly and has an unobstructed view of the sky.
- When using the FM transmitter, select an unused FM frequency in your area to minimize interference.
- Consider purchasing a hardwire kit (buck line) for the 24-hour parking monitoring feature to protect your vehicle while parked.
- Regularly check the Roadcam APP for new features or performance enhancements.
