4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Outdoor Sensor Assembly and Placement

The 7-in-1 outdoor sensor integrates a rain collector, UV and light sensor, level indicator, wind cups, thermo-hygrometer radiation shield, wind vane, and solar panel. Proper placement is crucial for accurate readings.

  • Assembly: Follow the detailed instructions in the included manual for assembling the wind cups, wind vane, and mounting pole.
  • Location: Choose an open area free from obstructions (buildings, trees) that could interfere with wind, rain, or sunlight measurements.
  • Height: Mount the sensor at a sufficient height to ensure accurate wind speed and direction readings, typically 2-3 meters above ground level.
  • Orientation: Ensure the wind vane is correctly oriented (e.g., pointing North) as per the manual's instructions.
  • Transmission Range: The sensor has a wireless transmission range of up to 328 feet (100 meters) without obstacles. Consider this when choosing the placement relative to the indoor display console.
