3. Getting Started (Setup)
3.1 Key Function Description
Familiarize yourself with the mouse buttons and their functions:

3.2 Charging the Mouse
The mouse can be charged using the provided Type-C cable. Connect the cable to the Type-C charging port on the mouse and to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, wall adapter). The indicator light will be steadily red during charging and will turn off when fully charged.

3.3 Connection Methods
The SMAILWOLF M3/M3 PRO mouse supports three connection modes: Wired, 2.4G Wireless, and Bluetooth. You can switch between these modes using the switch on the bottom of the mouse.

3.3.1 Wired Connection
- Connect the provided Type-C cable to the mouse and to a USB port on your computer.
- Ensure the mode switch on the bottom of the mouse is set to the wired mode (usually indicated by a cable icon or 'Wired').
- The mouse should be immediately recognized and ready for use.
3.3.2 2.4G Wireless Connection
- Remove the 2.4G USB receiver from its storage compartment (usually on the bottom of the mouse).
- Insert the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
- Switch the mode selector on the bottom of the mouse to the 2.4G position (usually indicated by a 2.4G icon or '2.4G').
- The indicator light on the mouse will turn red. If pairing is successful, the red light will remain on for approximately 3 seconds before turning off, and the mouse will be ready for use.
- If unable to connect (Code Pairing): If the mouse does not connect automatically, long press and hold the PB key on the mouse for 3 seconds while in 2.4G mode. Then, ensure the receiver is inserted into the computer's USB port. The mouse should automatically connect when it is close to the receiver. The red light will stay on for 3 seconds upon successful connection.
3.3.3 Bluetooth Connection
- Switch the mode selector on the bottom of the mouse to the Bluetooth (BT) position.
- Short press the PB key to select either Bluetooth BT1 (indicated by a blue light) or BT2 (indicated by a green light). This allows you to pair with two different Bluetooth devices.
- For BT1: Press and hold the PB key for approximately three seconds. The indicator light will flash blue. On your computer, tablet, or mobile phone, enable Bluetooth and search for new devices. Select "mouse M3-1" from the list of available devices to pair. After successful pairing, the blue indicator light will remain solid for about 3 seconds, indicating a successful connection.
- For BT2: Press and hold the PB key for approximately three seconds. The indicator light will flash green. On your computer, tablet, or mobile phone, enable Bluetooth and search for new devices. Select "mouse M3-2" from the list of available devices to pair. After successful pairing, the green indicator light will remain solid for about 3 seconds, indicating a successful connection.
4. Operation
4.1 DPI Adjustment
The mouse offers multiple DPI settings (800-1600-2400-3200-6400-12000) to suit your preference. Press the DPI button (Key 6 in Key Function Description) to cycle through the available DPI levels. For more precise control and customization, you can use the dedicated DPI driver software.
4.2 Return Rate Adjustment
The polling rate (return rate) can be adjusted to optimize responsiveness. To adjust the polling rate, hold down both the middle mouse button (scroll wheel click) and the right mouse button simultaneously for 3 seconds. Alternatively, you can modify the polling rate using the mouse's driver software.
4.3 Indicator Light Description
The indicator light provides visual feedback on the mouse's status:
- 2.4G Mode: Red Light
- Bluetooth Mode 1 (BT1): Blue Light
- Bluetooth Mode 2 (BT2): Green Light
- Low Battery: Green indicator light flashing

4.4 Hibernate Wake-up Instructions

- Light Sleep Mode: After being stationary for 15 seconds, the mouse enters light sleep. It can be awakened by simply moving the mouse or pressing any button.
- Deep Sleep Mode: After remaining idle for 20 minutes, the mouse enters deep sleep. To wake it up from deep sleep, you must press a button.
