5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Timekeeping
Your watch continuously displays the current time with its hour, minute, and small seconds hands. The 24-hour sub-dial at 9 o'clock provides an AM/PM reference.
5.2 Using the Chronograph (Stopwatch)
The chronograph function allows you to measure elapsed time.
- Start: Press Pusher A (top pusher) to start the chronograph. The large central second hand will begin to move, and the 60-minute sub-dial at 3 o'clock will track elapsed minutes.
- Stop: Press Pusher A again to stop the chronograph. The elapsed time will be indicated by the central second hand and the 60-minute sub-dial.
- Reset: After stopping the chronograph, press Pusher B (bottom pusher) to reset all chronograph hands to their zero positions.
- Intermediate Time Measurement (Split Time): While the chronograph is running, press Pusher B to measure an intermediate time. The chronograph hands will stop to show the split time. Press Pusher B again to resume chronograph measurement. Press Pusher A to stop the chronograph, then Pusher B to reset.
5.3 Water Resistance
Your PAGANI DESIGN Apollo 500 watch has a water resistance rating of 10 Bar (100 meters / 330 feet). This means it is suitable for swimming, showering, and snorkeling. However, please observe the following precautions:
- Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before exposing the watch to water.
- Do NOT operate the pushers or crown while the watch is wet or submerged.
- Avoid exposing the watch to hot water, steam, or extreme temperature changes, as this can compromise the water resistance seals.
- Water resistance is not a permanent condition and may diminish over time. It is recommended to have the water resistance seals checked periodically by a professional.
6. Maintenance and Care
6.1 Cleaning
To maintain the appearance of your watch:
- Wipe the case and sapphire crystal with a soft, dry cloth.
- For waterproof watches, you may use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap, then rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry completely.
- Avoid using chemical cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials.
6.2 Battery Replacement
Your watch is powered by a quartz movement, which requires a battery. When the watch stops or the second hand begins to jump erratically (indicating a low battery), it's time for a replacement. We recommend having the battery replaced by a qualified watchmaker or service center to ensure proper sealing and function.
6.3 Leather Strap Care
The leather strap is susceptible to wear and tear. To prolong its life:
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and moisture.
- Clean with a soft, damp cloth and allow to air dry naturally.
- Avoid contact with perfumes, cosmetics, and oils, which can damage the leather.
7. Troubleshooting
- Watch not running: Check if the crown is fully pushed in. If it is, the battery may need replacement.
- Chronograph hands not resetting to zero: Follow the instructions in Section 4.2 to adjust the chronograph hands.
- Condensation inside the watch: This indicates a breach in the water resistance. Immediately take the watch to a professional for inspection and repair to prevent further damage.
- Inaccurate timekeeping: While quartz movements are highly accurate, significant deviation may indicate a low battery or a need for servicing.
