5. Installation

Before installation, ensure you have the correct tools, including a drill, screwdriver, and measuring tape.

  1. Prepare the Mounting Surface:
    • Measure and mark the desired location for the lock on your furniture (drawer, cabinet door, etc.).
    • Using the provided dimensions (refer to Figure 4), drill an 18mm diameter hole for the lock cylinder.
  2. Install the Lock Body:
    • Insert the lock cylinder through the drilled hole from the front of the furniture.
    • Secure the lock body from the inside using the provided nut.
  3. Attach the L-Bracket:
    • Position the L-bracket on the inside of the furniture, aligning it with the lock's latch mechanism.
    • Ensure the latch can freely engage and disengage with the bracket when the lock is operated.
    • Secure the L-bracket with the provided mounting screws.
  4. Test Installation:
    • Before programming fingerprints, manually check that the lock mechanism operates smoothly and securely.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Initial Setup and Fingerprint Registration

  1. First-time Use: The lock is in factory default mode. Any fingerprint can unlock it initially.
  2. Registering Administrator Fingerprint:
    • Press and hold the fingerprint sensing area until the blue light flashes.
    • Place your finger on the sensor. The blue light will flash, then turn green. Remove your finger.
    • Repeat placing and removing the same finger 5 times, ensuring the green light flashes each time.
    • Upon successful registration, the green light will stay solid for a moment, then turn off. The first registered fingerprint is the administrator.
  3. Registering User Fingerprints:
    • Briefly press the fingerprint sensing area with the administrator's finger. The blue light will flash.
    • Immediately place the new user's finger on the sensor. The blue light will flash, then turn green. Remove the finger.
    • Repeat placing and removing the new user's finger 5 times.
    • Upon successful registration, the green light will stay solid for a moment, then turn off.
    • You can register up to 20 fingerprints in total.

6.2 Unlocking the Lock

  • Place a registered finger on the fingerprint sensing area.
  • The lock will unlock in less than 1 second if the fingerprint is recognized.
  • The lock will automatically re-lock after a few seconds.

6.3 Deleting Fingerprints

  1. Press and hold the fingerprint sensing area with the administrator's finger for approximately 5-7 seconds until the red light flashes.
  2. Release the finger. The red light will flash rapidly, then turn off. All registered fingerprints are now deleted.

6.4 Charging the Battery

  • When the battery is low, a red light will be displayed on the lock.
  • Connect a standard USB charging cable to the USB charging port on the lock (refer to Figure 9).
  • Connect the other end of the USB cable to a power source (e.g., USB adapter, computer USB port).
  • During charging, the indicator light will show charging status (typically red or orange).
  • When fully charged, the indicator light will turn green.
  • The built-in rechargeable battery is designed for low power consumption, so frequent charging is not required.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the fingerprint sensing area and lock body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Care: Recharge the battery when the low battery indicator appears. Avoid completely draining the battery for extended periods to prolong its lifespan.
  • Environmental Conditions: The lock is designed for indoor use. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity, which can affect performance and durability.
  • Regular Checks: Periodically check the mounting screws and L-bracket to ensure they are secure.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Keep the USB charging cable accessible for convenient recharging.
